Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken

Submitted by Mary C

Yes! This movie was a frequent viewing in my house. Something about the free spirit, the overcoming triumphs, the story of a girl going blind and jumping from ridiculous heights into a pool of water on a horse…unbelievable.

The Love Boat

Submitted by Candace C

From Wikipedia:

The Love Boat (simply Love Boat in its final season) is an American television series set on a cruise ship, which aired on the ABC Television Network from September 24, 1977 until May 24, 1986. The show starred Gavin MacLeod as the ship’s captain, who encourages his customers to find romance. It was part of ABC’s Saturday night “one-two punch”[citation needed] along with Fantasy Island until the latter show ended in 1984.

The original 1976 made-for-TV movie on which the show was based, also titled The Love Boat, was itself based on the nonfiction book The Love Boats by Jeraldine Saunders, a real-life cruise director. Two more TV movies (titled The Love Boat II and The New Love Boat, respectively) would follow before the series began its run.

Under Wraps

Submitted by Milla M

From Wikipedia:

Three 12-year-old kids discover a mummy in the basement of a “dead” man’s house. It comes alive due to the conjunction of the moonlight during that time of the month. They are scared of him at first, but with time discover he is friendly, if clumsy and confused.

The kids name the mummy Harold, and decide he will temporarily take up residence in one kid’s bedroom. After paying a visit to their Halloween-obsessed friend, they discover that if the mummy is not put back in his coffin before midnight on All Hallow’s Eve, the mummy will cease to exist.

Luckily, the sarcophagus is in the Egyptian exhibit at the local museum, but there are a few obstacles. For one thing, Harold’s unusual appearance may attract unwanted attention as Halloween night draws closer. Also, someone powerful, and evil is out to get Harold, meaning the kids to save him before midnight on Halloween.

Submitted by Ol’ Growler (a black bear that’s totally into Winona Ryder, and also the 90’s)

From Wikipedia:

Reality Bites is a 1994 film written by Helen Childress and featuring the directorial debut of Ben Stiller. It stars Stiller, Winona Ryder, and Ethan Hawke, with major supporting roles played by Janeane Garofalo and Steve Zahn. The film was shot on location in Austin and Houston, Texas in 42 days. The plot is centered on Lelaina (Ryder), an aspiring videographer working on a documentary called Reality Bites about the disenfranchised lives of her friends and roommates (Hawke, Garofalo, and Zahn), and to a certain degree, about Lelaina herself. Their challenges, both documented and not, exemplify some of the career and lifestyle choices faced by Generation X.

Double Dribble

Submitted by Terry “Lord Voldemort” Espinoza

I remember rocking this game all summer when it first came out. My friends and I would explode our rooms with anger when we played, but we always came back to Double Dribble after cooling our heads for a few days. This game was a direct result of my first black eye :(

Diablo II

Submitted by Bobby Terror and the Argyle Sweaters

From Wikipedia:

Diablo II is a sequel to the game Diablo, a dark fantasy-themed action role-playing game in a hack and slash and “dungeon roaming” style. It was released for Microsoft Windows and Mac OS in 2000 by Blizzard Entertainment, and was developed by Blizzard North.

Diablo II was one of the most popular games of 2000.[1] Major factors that contributed to Diablo II’s success include what fans found to be addictive hack and slash gameplay and free access to Battle.net. Diablo II may be played as a single player game, multi-player via a LAN, or multi-player via Battle.net.[2]

The game was conceptualized and designed by David Brevik and Erich Schaefer, with Blizzard North founders David Brevik, Max and Erich Schaefer acting as Project Leads for the other disciplines (Engineering, Character Art and Environment Art, respectively). The main production roles were handled by Matthew Householder and Bill Roper.

An expansion to Diablo II, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, was released in 2001, and is now at version 1.12a. A sequel, Diablo III, was announced on June 28, 2008.
