PJ Sparkles Doll

PJ Sparkles was another one of my favorite toys as a child. I think they’ve recently tried to re-release it onto the market, but you can’t beat the original

I’m curious to see if anyone else remembers the adorable Hugga Bunch dolls from the 80’s. They were one of my favorite toys when I was a little girl, and I used to watch the videos over and over again. I dreamed of being able to walk through my own mirror and step into HuggaLand… haha.

I used to love this video as a kid. I think I tortured my poor parents for wanting to replay daily.

Herman’s Head is a sitcom that aired on the Fox network from 1991 to 1994.
As FOX was a relatively young network, they were able to experiment with the show’s format, allowing for a unique device: whenever Herman Brooks, the main character, had an important decision to make, the TV audience would be shown a “Greek chorus” style dramatization of his thought process featuring four actors representing differing aspects of his psyche.
Though the show suffered from poor ratings and many viewers felt that the quirky format was exhausted after two seasons, the show is remembered for its use of the unique Greek Chorus style. The show was also shown on Channel 4 in the UK between 1993 and 1994, on channel STS in Russia between 1996 and 1997, and M-Net in South Africa.

these were basically binders with various pages about different animals divided up into categories (mammal, amphibian, etc). You would get these pages in the mail, and it gave info about the animal, where it lives, how it behaves, etc.

Freeway is the best Reese Witherspoon movie ever. I wrote her a letter a few years ago asking her to do something amazing and edgy again… but she never wrote back

I was kinda hoping for some kind of honorable mention of the EPICally disturbing, banned METH song commercial! Its chipper tune was always sure to get stuck in your head, having you singing “meth, OOOOH meth!” all day long while your parents glared at you, phone in hand, about to dial 911. Those were the days! The song and commercial, while short-lived because it was swiftly banned, always managed to stick with me. I’ll never be sure whether it was banned because the catchy song glorified meth, or because the commercial itself was scary as hell. I dare say the haunting, frantic images in the commercial are what kept my curiosity about drugs completely at bay.

From the movie box?
“One day, two kids named Scott and Laurie and their basset hound Barney are magically transported into a coloring book! This coloring book is a mystical, magical land called “Sillyville.” While there, the kids meet up with Sillywhim, a happy, sing-songy lady who tells them of Sillyville’s troubles. The Yellow Spurdurgurgles, Blue Twirlypops, Green Jingleheimers, and Red Bittybooties are all fighting because they do not wear the same colors! Scott, Laurie, and Sillywhim meet up with all of these coloful characters, plus a talking tree, a singing acorn, and the kindly purple-wearing Pasha who all sing songs about themselves. Will the kids and Sillywhim be able to reunite all of the people of Sillyville?”- quote from the movie’s box
