When looking back, what was the one meal that every child loves, and everyone remembers loving though would never think of eating now a days….. Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwiches.

Jack Elliot is an aging American baseball player put on the trading block by the New York Yankees in favor of a younger player (played by former Chicago White Sox legend Frank Thomas), and there’s only one taker: the Nagoya Chunichi Dragons of Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball.
Right away, the arrogant Elliot clashes with the Japanese culture and he soon alienates his new teammates. He believes the rules and management style of his new skipper, Uchiyama (Ken Takakura) are ludicrous and continues to do things his way, which leads his already dwindling performance to suffer more. His only ally on the team is another American ballplayer, Max “Hammer” Dubois (Dennis Haysbert), but even he’s fed up with Jack’s attitude and lack of respect for the game and his team.

Sometimes I randomly get Bob Seger’s “Like a Rock” stuck in my head, and I picture a Chevy truck bouncing majestically along the rocky terrain. I don’t think I’ve ever heard the original song in its entirety. I also like that the song spurred a lot of jokes along the lines of “yeah, it sinks like a rock” or “like a rock through your windshield.”

Does anyone remember Bouncing Babies or Alley Cat DOS games from the mid 80’s? With the teal and fuchsia color scheme? I absolutely loved playing these games. In fact, I still do.

These cute creatures were around in the eighties and early nineties. My memories of these a very vague, but I knew a couple of people who had these. Taking up a pastel colour pallet, long locks of hair and the occasional friend accompanied them. They would also come with a key and a brush. They came in bunnies, turtles, swans, ducks and horses. I wanted a horsey one, but never got one!

The Animated Dilbert T.V series was a classic. It had thirty episodes in two seasons. It received a Golden Globe before it’s cancellation. It guest starred many including Stephen Hawking, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and even Jerry Seinfeld.

The Gobbledok is a fictional advertising character in Australia from the late 1980s to mid 1990s. It is a pale brownish alien with an obsession for eating Smith’s Potato Crisps. The Gobbledok subsisted on Smith’s Crisps because they reminded it of its home, Dok the Potato Planet. This small irregularly shaped world can be found just a little southeast of the Large Magellanic Cloud, and is reported from spectral analysis to be almost entirely composed of complex starch molecules, surrounded in an Acrylamide crust, theorised to be due in part to the extreme effects of the planet’s mostly Triglyceride atmosphere, and extremes of seasonal temperature.
The Gobbledok became famous for his catchphrase “chippie, chippie, chippie!”
