Are You My Mother was an epic childhood story and bedtime favorite. The baby bird travels all over and sees all kinds of cool thing before finally being deposited back in his nest where he is reunited with his mother.

After reading the Indian in the Cupboard I actually went out and grabbed this old cupboard in the field behind our house, sanded it, stained it, and waxed it, then put my favorite figurines in it, hoping that they would come to life. Unfortunately, all they ever did was turned brown from the wood treatment.
It was also a good lesson in tolerance and humility for us.

Babar the Elephant was another Epic Win bedtime story that later became an epic win cartoon as well. Babar was so cultured and smart when dealing with Lord Rataxes, the Rhinoceros.

Goodnight Moon was an epic bedtime story. It taught us to say goodnight to all of the things we cared about, whether they be our family members, or stuff animals, or other inanimate objects in our room.
