Epic Win: Bazooka Joe

Feb. 10, 2009

Once Upon A Win

Submitted by P Rivera

Just about the cheapest gum you can get and it comes with a free comic that’s usually pretty entertaining. The best part about Bazooka Joe is the mega bubbles you can blow if you shove several pieces in your mouth at once. How many pieces can you fit?

Epic Win: Ring Pops

Jan. 30, 2009

Once Upon A Win

Submitted by L Heilman

Future lady’s men were born on the school yard with Ring Pops. While most kids that got their hands on a ring pop would hoard them or quickly chew the delicious hard candy off its ring base, you could always tell who the heart-breakers were going to be by which boys would look past the cooties and give away or share their ring pops with the girls. Some of them just never got past it – Nick Cannon for instance, proposed to Mariah Carrey with a Ring Pop. Apparently it worked too because they’ve been married since April of ‘08.

Epic Win: Fruit Stripe Gum

Jan. 29, 2009

Once Upon A Win

Submitted by Cammie

Three types of gum chewers emerged from the legions of children that chewed Fruit Stripe, the fleetingly flavorful gum – people who chew gum for the initial burst of flavor and not much longer, people who chew gum until long after it’s turned to a flavorless lump of wax, and people who hate gum.

Who knew you could still buy Fruit Stripe Gum? We sure didn’t.

Here’s one of the original Fruit Stripe commercials:

And here’s the commercial that probably doomed Fruit Stripe to obscurity after the 80’s:

Friday Fail: Fruit Float

We couldn’t find a picture of Libby’s Fruit Float out of the can, but we’re guessing it might look a lot like this unholy addition to every family reunion/picnic ever, ambrosia:
