Epic Win: Bubble Tape

Mar. 13, 2009

Once Upon A Win

Submitted by katsak

“For you, not them.” Remember those terrible commercials? Just in case you don’t remember, here’s the one with the lunch lady and gym teacher:

Maybe the reason we can’t understand how this compelled us to buy a 6-foot strip of mostly tasteless chewing gum is because we have become “them”.

Epic Win: Wilford Brimley for Quaker Oats

Mar. 13, 2009

Submitted by katsak

Wilford Brimley was a man’s man in the 80’s and 90’s when he was doing the Quaker Oats commercials. “It’s the right thing to do and the right way to do it.” He doesn’t even let you choose. He’s telling you, you eat my Oatmeal, or else.

Epic Win: Planters Cheez Balls

Mar. 11, 2009

Once Upon A Win

Submitted by V Leong

We’ve never had these before, but the high votes Planters Cheez Balls received dictates that we post them as an Epic Win. After looking around for some appropriate content to include with the post, this guy convinced us we needed to go buy some Cheez Balls. His willingness to post this video just to express his love for Cheez Balls has inspired us.

Epic Win: Morris the Cat

Mar. 10, 2009

Once Upon A Win

Submitted by katsak

Not only are the Morris the Cat commercials entertaining in their own right, we have to hand it to the cat handlers for always selecting rescued cats. It’s ironic how Morris is so cavalier (like Thurston J. Howell, III) after being rescued. Word on the street is that in 2006, Morris also adopted L’il Mo as part of a campaign to rescue a million cats from shelters.

Epic Win: Nestle Strawberry Quik

Mar. 4, 2009

Once Upon A Win

Submitted by N Schilman

Just writing this makes us want to go out and find some Strawberry Quik to drink. Remember how you could never get the mixture right so you always ended up with a syrupy pink mixture with a glob of pink goo at the bottom?
It was especially a favorite among grandparents who would get us wired on sugar milk before sending us home to our parents.
