Epic Win: Beakman’s World

Mar. 27, 2009

Submitted by Hannah H

Who didn’t get in trouble at least once for screwing up a Beakman experiment? But that was why he was so awesome! We used to do all kinds of crazy things with household products because Beakman taught us how to mix this and that and we figured it work on the other things.

That and Beakman and the gang were hilarious….

Epic Win: 3-2-1 Contact

Mar. 25, 2009

Submitted by Mountain Girl

3-2-1 Contact was another one of the glorious brain-candy shows of the 80’s and 90’s. Children watched it because it was interesting and exciting and it stimulated their imagination while teaching them things that would be useful and fun later in life. Gone are the days when we watched television purely because it was entertaining, exciting and informative, like this. Now, if you want to teach a kid something you have to include a segment where something gets blown up in order to demonstrate scientific approach.

once upon a win

Submitted by prairiechick

Watching these clips brought back so many memories. So many people passed tests solely because they remembered enough of these songs to get by. ABC should go back to their roots and start offering quality programming like this again. Try watching these videos without getting the songs stuck in your head.

Epic Win: Yan Can Cook

Mar. 19, 2009

Submitted by A Schruefer

“If Yan can cook, so can you!” We used to ditch school to stay home and watch Martin Yan chop, chop some delicious food, all the while making funny jokes and being a fun character to watch. When Yan Can Cook came up we were so excited we went to his Web site to see if we could order the old show on DVD. Unfortunately, the only DVD available is Martin Yan’s China, which comes free with purchase of his cookbooks or chef knives.

Once Upon A Win

Submitted by R Hood

PS.

“This is the song that doesn’t end,
Yes, it goes on and on my friend.
Some people started it
Not knowing what it was.
And they’ll continue singing it forever just because
This is the song that doesn’t end…”
