For many of us, our interests in science began at an early age and this was one of the toys that got us there. We asked why the wheel stayed on the Whee-lo and how it zoomed back and forth without falling off. The rest of us had smart-ass Dads or Uncles that told us it was magic or some other bizarre reasoning that they gave us. Inevitably we’d sit there for hours contemplating how the maple syrup allowed the wheel to roll upside-down.

Don’t like what you get? Spin the dial and a whole new picture appears. Kaleidoscopes were our generations cure for ADD. Why do you think screen savers and media player “visualizations” are so popular among stoners? It’s like an endless electronic kaleidoscope.

While Chutes & Ladders, like Candy Land was devoid of any necessity for skill, it was somehow more entertaining to have your character climbing up and sliding down, rather than being arbitrarily sent to locations on the board. The spinny wheel was also far superior to the cards.

Did anyone else have multiple sets of these strung around their entire room with multiple mazes and outcomes? Yeah, us too… I bet some of you even used it to entertain your kitty’s too.
