Epic Win: Beverly Hills Cop

Apr. 17, 2009

once upon a win

Remember back in the day when Eddie Murphy was actually funny? This is where it all started – Beverly Hills Cop. Not to mention we also got Judge Reinhold and Bronson Pinchot (Cousin Balki) out of the deal.

To top it all off, who didn’t have the Axel Foley theme song as their ringtone on their Nokia 5110?

once upon a win

Richard Pryor is considered one of the most influential comedians of the last 100 years. He said what he wanted, when he wanted and he didn’t give a… You get the idea. Long before Wall-E, there was Johnny Five. Johnny Five is alive! And Steve Guttenberg! Any movie is better with The Gutt in it. And even though he totally played on racial stereotypes, The Gutt’s sidekick was hilarious!

Epic Win: The Last Unicorn

The Last Unicorn was an awesomely mature animated film. It also had a star-studded cast for the 1980’s. Mia Farrow, Jeff Bridges, Alan Arkin, and Angela Lansbury to name a few. The red bull was epic and really ignited our imaginations. It also opened the door for many of us to become fans of Hayao Miyazaki, since shortly after finishing this film most of the animators joined his company.

Epic Win: Tron

Apr. 6, 2009

Submitted by Cathain

Before there was the Internets, there was Tron. One of man’s first visual imaginings of what the future of computers would hold. Rumor has it that there’s a Tron remake in the works, but no trailer has been leaked yet.
