Epic Win: Bedknobs and Broomsticks

Jun. 22, 2009

Submitted by Stephen F

Bedknobs and Broomsticks was an Epic Film because it incorporated both live action and cartoons. It also used the fantastic to solve Miss Price’s problems, something that all children wish could happen.

Epic Win: GoldenEye 007

Jun. 21, 2009

Submitted by Andrew W

GoldenEye 007 revolutionized First Person Shooters, Multiplayer gaming, and video games in general. Whether you were in middle school, high school or college, at one point GoldenEye was an epic party game for just about all boys and for most girls as well.
Just hearing the gameplay music set us on edge, cautious over whether or not one of our coworkers was set up on a rooftop, waiting to snipe us.

Epic Win: High Fidelity

Jun. 20, 2009

High Fidelity was an Epic Win of the ’90s and a quintessential film for anyone who enjoys quality music… And hipsters. High Fidelity is the movie we all wish we could sit down and force-feed to every teeny bopper who has no idea what it means to listen to really enjoy music. It also helps that it’s got the likes of John Cusak, Jack Black, and Tim Robbins in it.

Jim Varney was an epic part of any childhood that spanned the ’80s or ’90s. Anyone that grew up in that era has probably seen Ernest Goes to Camp about a billion times.

Epic Win: Indian in the Cupboard

Jun. 14, 2009

Submitted by Jason H

After reading the Indian in the Cupboard I actually went out and grabbed this old cupboard in the field behind our house, sanded it, stained it, and waxed it, then put my favorite figurines in it, hoping that they would come to life. Unfortunately, all they ever did was turned brown from the wood treatment.
It was also a good lesson in tolerance and humility for us.
