I love this blurb from Wikipedia on the entry for Dexys Midnight Runners:

Dexys Midnight Runners are a British pop group with soul influences, who achieved their major success in the early to mid-1980s. They are best known for their songs “Come on Eileen” and “Geno”.

Who the heck has ever heard the song “Geno”? Dexys Midnight Runners epitomized the one-hit wonder. “Come on Eileen” is a song everyone can sing along to, yet few people can name the band. In fact, VH1 honored the song with the title of the #1 One-Hit Wonder of the ’80s.

Queen was perhaps one of the most musically versatile rock bands of all time. Led by flamboyant vocalist Freddie Mercury, the band penned a number of awesome stadium anthems (“We Will Rock You,” “We are the Champions”), multiharmony rock numbers (“Don’t Stop Me Now,” “Under Pressure”), and epic rock operas (“Bohemian Rhapsody” of course!).

Is “Bohemian Rhapdsody” the greatest song ever written? No other song has ever sounded anything like it.

When Pop-Up Video debuted on VH1 in 1996, it quickly became the channel’s highest-rated show. The format was simple: play campy music videos while word bubbles popped up with brilliant trivia nuggets about the band and video. Where else would you learn that actress Diane Keaton directed Belinda Carlisle’s video for “Heaven is a Place on Earth,” that Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” video took six weeks to complete (they usually take two days), or that George Michael of Wham! used to stuff shuttlecocks down his pants?

Music Videos on MTV deserve a Win for nostalgia by themselves, but then you throw in metal and it becomes Epic. Why’d you love The Ball? Who was your favorite artist that you discovered during the wee-hours that Headbangers Ball broadcast?

Suddenly music and mixing became portable and easy with the Dual Cassette Player. You could walk down to the store with your boombox on your shoulder or you could plug it into the wall at home and make your girl some mixtapes.
Any street performer or hip-hop, ska, or rocksteady artist worth their salt knows that they owe everything to a dual cassette player and about 30 D batteries. Without the Dual Cassette Player there would have been no street breakdancing, hip-hop, Sound Systems, reggae, mixtapes, or Soundwave (and without Soundwave there’d also be no Ravage, Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Ratbat, Rumble, Frenzy, Slugfest, Overkill, Squawktalk, and Beastbox).
So give it up for the Epic Win Dual Cassette Player aka Boombox, aka Ghetto Blaster, aka Brixton Briefcase.

PS. We realize Soundwave, in appearance, is not a Dual Cassette Player, however, he always had all of those cassettes inside him, so in reality he’s a multi-cassette player.
