Epic Win: Mini Carousels

Submitted by D Buendorf
I remember throwing tantrums if my parents wouldn’t let me ride every single mini carousel that I saw. Totally silly, totally tacky, totally the best way to spend a quarter.

The other day one of my best friends reminded me of something I had totally forgotten from my youth: Mickey’s Parade Ice Pops, popsicles in the shapes of your favorite Disney character. Whatever happened to these?
These were great. Another epic win from the ice cream truck: Mickey’s Parade Mickey Mouse Bars!

Come to think of it, they don’t really resemble Mickey all that much, eh?

The Yip Yips were Sesame Street’s notorious Martian duo — truly underrated characters from the Muppet canon. But the real question is, were they better than Kang and Kodos from The Simpsons? You decide! Here’s a clip (sorry to make you click; Hulu embeds aren’t working).

Here’s how to turn Jenga into a drinking game: write things on the bottom sides of the Jenga blocks; when each player pulls out a block, they have to do whatever is written on it — drink, pick someone to drink, waterfall, ten fingers… you’re only limited by your imagination and desire to get hammered.
Oh yeah, and the person who knocks over the whole stack has to drink ten beers. Sorry, that’s just the way it goes.

Juniper Jupiter sez:
You know what was REALLY fun? Doing the “Jenga Face” on purpose when the tower came down.
My brother-in-law and I noticed on the box how the whole family’s faces looked like they were in mock terror as their tower went down, and we realize that NOBODY does that face for real, so we decided to do the “Jenga Face” when one of us knocked down the tower to mess with people.
That was fun!

Maybe it’s just me, I’d rather see a Captain Planet movie than a G.I. Joe movie.
In 1990, Ted Turner introduced Captain Planet to teach kids about the importance of protecting our environment, the dangers of pollution, and convince kids that there are only five elements — the most important of which being “heart.”
The most famous part of the show is actually it’s outro. “You’ll pay for this, Captain Planet!”
