Even those of us who have never seen a Bruce Lee film know who Bruce Lee was. We know he was a world class martial arts expert and film star. He starred in 20 films before he turned 18, but he is especially well known for later films like Enter the Dragon. He died young, at the age of 32. His son, Brandon Lee, also a famous actor, died at the age of 20 while filming The Crow. They are buried side-by-side at the Lakeview Cemetery in Seattle, Washington.

It’s impressive that something simple like soap—and not the kind your parents would wash your mouth out with if they heard you utter a naughty word—can be nostalgic. Maybe it’s not the soap, though; maybe it’s the character of Mr. Bubble. How could that adorable cartoon face not bring back memories of childhood baths? And to think that today Lady GaGa would try and turn our Mr. Bubble into some kind of dress! Stay clean, kids. But if you do get dirty, Mr. Bubble seems like he can remedy your problem whimsically.

Oh, how this made me laugh. I mean really laugh. A good gut-buster. A knee-slapper, if you will. This magical (pun intended) film moment is the perfect storm of all the right ingredients: Rapping, late ’80s fashion, lip synching, bad dancing, randomness, sassiness, witchcraft, and did I mention rapping? Last season on 30 Rock, Kenneth performed a short portion of this song. I think, now, I would like to watch both, one right after the other, on loop, until the end of days. “Look at how funky he is!” Say it with me now: WTF?!

These things were, and still are, great. I loved sipping these thing as a kid. They were the basis for fruit gushers. The only problem was the wax itself, because once you tore the top off the little bottle top, the juice inside would come pouring out.

Personally, I think these were better in theory than in execution. I agree with Dalton that the wax was a problem, and once you admit that, you have to wonder “What was the point?” However, as kids, wax soda bottles seemed so cool, and even just looking at a picture of them takes me back to days long gone.

I understand the straw cups. I really do. With a straw built right in, one could go as far as to say they’re a rather convenient invention. The bowls, though? The only use the bowls have that I can think of is to slurp up the milk leftover from your cereal. Am I missing something? Nevertheless, I most certainly remember using these as a child. And only once or twice as an adult. They do what a lot of good products do (looking at you, crazy straws!): Make eating food even more fun!
