I will never understand why this movie wasn’t a HUGE HIT. It’s a classic. I never get tired of it. I had to buy this DVD for my movie collection.

Definitely underrated. This cast is a win: Bette Middler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy (voice of Peggy on King of the Hill).

THAT’S FIVE COUNTS! HAHAHAHAHA! … at Comixed

While I’ve spent most of this week trying to win an iPod from FAILBlog, I have also been perusing the archives of Comixed. It’s a bit like the other Cheezburger sites, only the pictures are strung together like comic book panels. I know that sounds incredibly nerdy (it is), but the results are rather hilarious.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this sooner. I played the Zest commercial for my friend and she immediately started talking about the Sure deodorant commericals where the Sure people would raise their arms triumphantly for whatever reason and the unsure people kept their arms at their sides and looked like handicapped chickens. The music in it reminds me of the Ferris Bueller “Ohhhh yeahhh” music.

I had this memory flash back to me while in the grocery store today. The old Parkay commercials with the talking tubs.

Before I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! (yes, the exclamation point is part of the brand name), Kraft was trying to fool people into thinking Parkay Margarine was, in fact, just as good as real butter… with the use of terrifying talking containers.

Deacon Jones is also awesome. There’s a reason they nicknamed him the “Secretary of Defense.”
