Epic Win: Nickelodeon Magazine

Oct. 11, 2009

Submitted and Written by greggahorton, library thief

Nickelodeon magazine was the best thing ever! I used to read it in the library during lunch, and secretly steal the free prizes.

Epic Win: Grey Poupon Commercials

Oct. 10, 2009

Submitted and Written by Mary C, Dijon aristocrat

These commercials were as epic to me as the Mentos guy, “This Is Your Brain on Drugs,” and the native american crying over garbage. Even as a small child, I dreamed of riding with a driver and making a delicious sandwich at the same time. All while having a cute British accent, of course.

Epic Win: Love You Forever

Oct. 9, 2009

once upon a win

Submitted by Kayla R

Robert Munsch’s Love You Forever is one of the best selling children’s books of all time AND one of the most adorable. It’s extraordinarily heartfelt. Maria Shriver says she has never read the book without crying. I wonder if she reads it to Arnold before bedtime.

Epic Win: Mexican Jumping Beans

Wasn’t sure whether the submitter meant the toys or the actual beans, but I thought it would be best to represent both here.

I had no idea that the cause of the jumping was small larva trying to get away from heat. Gross!

Epic Win: AT&T “You Will” Commercials

Oct. 8, 2009

Submitted and Written by Ian W

These ads from the early 90’s were actually quite prophetic.

I know we just featured a classic AT&T ad, but this one jumped right off the voting pages. It’s almost creepy how well a lot of the technologies in this ad are available now.

AT&T: good at predicting the future, bad at giving me reception on my cell phone.
