I think we can all relate to Bread and Jam for Frances. Lots of kids go through a phase where they only want to eat one food — grilled cheese, PBJ, chicken fingers, etc. (Personally, I was a hot dog kid.) Frances only wants to eat bread and jam, so her parents let her eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. See where this lesson is going? Bread and Jam for Frances is the only kids book I know that teaches healthy eating habits.

Marvin has tried to destroy the Earth with his “Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator”, because, as he says, it obstructs his view of Venus.

I thought it’d be fun to mix things up for this Thursday afternoon and post a few music videos from the ’80s. These videos are awesome. Also terrible. Awesomely terrible. But again, mostly regular terrible.

I just saw a commercial on television for Kit Kat Bars, and I remembered the good old commercials they used to have with the very catchy song: “Give me a break, give me a break. Break me off a piece of that KIT KAT BAR!”

Neat fact: Kit Kats have become popular in Japan recently because it sounds so similar to kitto katsu, which translates to “You will surely win!” Apparently that makes them good luck charms.

Rush is like a sexual explosion of sound. Greatest drummer of all time and greatest bass player of all time, plus an excellent guitarist are pretty sweet right? Well, not until you add the incredible lyrics and the fact the just three guys can recreate a symphony of sound with total perfection that make professional musicians say HOLY F! As a kid I loved this song, and also the way the band spoke to non-conformist kids who weren’t ready to go full goth or full jock but just wanted to maintain some individuality in high school. This is what real talent looks like.

That’s one hell of a write up. Well done!
