Pace was just as watered down and not as delicious as any other non-homemade salsa, but they sure knew how to market it well. “New York City?!?” If you say it in the right tone, you can probably remind just about anyone that was old enough to watch television in the 80’s and early 90’s.

It’s a shame they went and ruined it with this half-assed remake. They don’t even use the incredulous “New York City?!?” line…

We know Weird Al is still around, but we’d like to wax nostalgic about the old Weird Al, with his incredibly lo-fi television debut to his cult film UHF. Would Seinfeld have had his crazy neighbor if Weird Al hadn’t casted Michael Richards as the wacky janitor?
Whether you love him or hate him, Weird Al kicked open a huge door for parodies and music related humor. Kudos to him for that.

It seems we just can’t get away from John Candy, although he was only a supporting actor in The Blues Brothers.

Belushi and Akroyd were the real stars and they really made this movie awesome. Even though The Blues Brothers was chock-full of plenty of profanity and other things most “adults” would object to these days, for some reason this movie was wholesome and clean enough that most of our parents let us watch it. When is Hollywood going to return to the good old days of epic movies like The Blues Brothers?

Did anyone else have multiple sets of these strung around their entire room with multiple mazes and outcomes? Yeah, us too… I bet some of you even used it to entertain your kitty’s too.

For such a simple game, Candy Land was, and is, an incredible amount of fun for young kids. As an added bonus it taught us how to recognize colors and more complex objects (remember the cards with the candy canes and chocolate bars on them?).
More importantly though, Candy Land taught us that life sucks and just isn’t fair. No amount of skill or maneuvering (unless you count the cheating kind) could save you from getting within steps of the end of the game and then get the plum card sending you back almost to the very beginning. Vice versa, early on your opponent would also get the Queen Frostine card and be catapulted within a few moves from the end of the game.
