Epic Win: DeLorean

Mar. 21, 2009

once upon a win

Submitted by Robbie B

Delorean’s were only manufactured for 7 years, and they were fairly unreliable, however, without them we would not have one of the most epic film trilogies of all times – Back to the Future. Rumor has it that the rights to the DeLorean have been purchased and a limited production of about 20 cars will be made each year, starting last year. Hopefully the movie this awesomely futuristic car inspired won’t follow suit.

Epic Win: ABC’s TGIF

Mar. 20, 2009

Once Upon A Win

Submitted by K Reynolds

ABC’s TGIF was always hit or miss as far as good content was concerned. Some of their content was so bad that a mere quote from a show such as, “I’m the baby, gotta love me,” or “Not the mama,” might send a nearby bystander into a violent fit of rage, whereby their arm would fly into uncontrollable up-and-down stabbing motion.
Other shows on ABC’s TGIF were the cream of the crop of television in their day though – shows like Perfect Strangers, Full House, Family Matters, and Boy Meets World to name a few. The best part was that the whole block of television was marketed as family-friendly prime time and there was no school in the morning, so it was a snap convincing your parents to let you stay up late and watch it.

Epic Win: Chutes & Ladders

Mar. 20, 2009

once upon a win

Submitted by Kyle M

While Chutes & Ladders, like Candy Land was devoid of any necessity for skill, it was somehow more entertaining to have your character climbing up and sliding down, rather than being arbitrarily sent to locations on the board. The spinny wheel was also far superior to the cards.

Epic Win: Yan Can Cook

Mar. 19, 2009

Submitted by A Schruefer

“If Yan can cook, so can you!” We used to ditch school to stay home and watch Martin Yan chop, chop some delicious food, all the while making funny jokes and being a fun character to watch. When Yan Can Cook came up we were so excited we went to his Web site to see if we could order the old show on DVD. Unfortunately, the only DVD available is Martin Yan’s China, which comes free with purchase of his cookbooks or chef knives.
