Epic Win: I Spy Books

Submitted by Michael D, who spies some WIN.
If I could count the hour spent interacting with I Spy books during my youth…Well, I don’t have that much time, honestly. In addition to being fun, the images themselves were gorgeous enough to stare at for hours. I’ve even, as an adult, flipped an I Spy book open once or twice, and there is still something magical about them. These have my vote over the “I spy, with my little eye, something _____” games that my brother and I used to play on road trips. Here’s a sample to gaze at for a bit (might be kind of hard to spot a toothpick in an image this size, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying):

I can remember running to the library in elementary school and fighting over them. aaaah those were the days
I love these books. The set ups where great looking.
I remember how I first found these books. In my school library, I read a book called “Eye Spy” and I asked for it for Christmas, but my mom ended up getting me “I Spy” (damn homophones). Anyway, after I got over my initial disappointment, I realized that the book I got was really cool.
Thanks for the reminder – I’ve just ordered some of these for my little one, he loves trying to find things in pictures.
i remember not seeing these since early elementary school until when i was a month or so away from graduating high school and they decided to have a book drive. i applaud the person who put the box with all the i spy books behind my desk.
To this day I still can’t find the Glove on the last page of the Christmas book. It’s not there!
