Submitted by Marie P, make-believe rock star
These didn’t amplify your voice as much as they made them sound echo-y and tinny. In the days pre-dating Rock Band, these goodie bag stuffers were the best way to pretend you were a rock star.

I had the nickelodeon version of this that had green slime at the top. Great not only for singing into, but pretending you’re a ghost!
Me too!!! But I actually tried to sing with it
They still sell these. Saw them yesterday at Lakeshore Learning.
I still have mine! :rofl. It was red, and yellow. I think technically, my brother has mine.
Fantastic. Nothing but.
I forgot all about these, I remember mine!
These things are still a dollar store classic! I didn’t have one to be honest, I was the kid who was satisfied with a hairbrush.
My older cousins used to use theirs to scare me. They would hide behind the couch and talk to me, pretending they were ghosts. And since I couldn’t see anybody and the voices sounded so weird, as a little kid I totally believed them.
I had one of these! My dad used to steal it and pretend he was God.
Your dad is awesome.
Epic father!
Did he tell you to stop touching yourself down there
No, but he did call up his sister and ask if she had any sins to confess. We’re weird that way.
My kid got one a year ago and he still plays with it almost every day. He also likes to introduce me to the crowd (our dining room can hold 20,000 invisible screaming fans) and shout out song requests for me so I play with it most days too.
Too old for those, but I do remember Mr. Microphone. I sense a future win . . .
Oh man, I loved these things! I would not only sing into them and annoy the crap outta everybody, but I would lightly bonk people on the head with them.
Lightly? bah!
Hitting people in the head with them made a cool reverb sound. ^^
These actually made a great laser blast noise if you hit the bottom, from what I remember.
Yeah! I forgot about that little noise!
That was the best thing ever!! Excellent for scaring cats and annoying parents.
My 2 year old has one of these from Target. She loves it! Completely perplexed my husband who had to take it apart to see how it works… dufus.
How can it be on this site if it’s still commonly found?
I freaking loved that thing!
Ah, man…I remember mine…I think it was pink and yellow. I used to annoy my mom for hours with it…
I think once she took it and threatened to melt it D:
this very toy is a good example of the “get your kids a toy that makes noises, prepare to enter a world of suffering” rule
I remember having a pink and yellow one. Stan Helsing.
My neice and nephew loved ‘em. It always kept them VERY entertained on road trips.
I used to play with it a lot, until my brother burped into it… yuk!
my niece and nephew still play with my old one singing hannah montannah no less
