Come on, he pops the balls out of his mouth! If you didn’t know this in middle school, and use it in the “wrong sense,” you weren’t getting the ’90s…
I have often made the same joke, but I honestly thought the jingle went: “I’m Mr. Bucket; put your balls in my mouth.” Anyway, pretty catchy song. Second to maybe Gator Golf. Anyone remember Gator Golf?

Wasn’t there an older version that went “The balls fly out of my head”?
That bucket so gave me the creeps when that ad was on all the time. And looking back now… I imagine every little kid that played with that abandoned the scoops entirely, and just picked up the balls with their hands.
Why wouldn’t you just wait until all your balls are out of the bucket then put them all in at once?
THIS GAME CONFUSES ME.
I’m always surprised and a little terrified by how clearly I remember these commercials.
Ohh this takes me back!! And I had no idea back then about the humor that is….balls popping out of his mouth. Hahaha.

I used to play this for hours with my mom. I really wish we hadn’t gotten rid of it, because I really want to play now

At the end of that commercial, the girl sounds like she said, “I win! I WI-I-N!” and then started to cry.
I think it said “your balls pop outta my mouth” until someone in the religious right complained.
If it was the Catholics that complained, I don’t see why they’d be upset about the jingle. After all, isn’t that what the priests do every Sunday with the altar boys?
Mr. Bucket FTW! I remember seeing this commercial on entensity.net and didn’t understand WHY it was there, but when I heard the jingle more carefully, then I got it. I can’t believe I never caught it sooner. “The balls pop out of my mouth”. THAT’S humor you don’t see in today’s advertising. BTW, Gator Golf has been on the market for years. Just recently, they changed the color from green to orange.

I have heard of Mr. Bucket before but have never actually played with him. As you can see, he spits out balls from his mouth, then we would have to scoop up the balls back into him, and then he spits the balls out from his mouth again!
(By the way, yes, I had the Gator Golf back in 1997. First player to score 4 points with each stroke wins!)

I still remember that from when I was a kid. It's amazing how many commercials you retain from childhood!
