Epic Win: Marvin the Martian
Submitted and Written by Mike, Martian sympathizer
Marvin has tried to destroy the Earth with his “Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator”, because, as he says, it obstructs his view of Venus.
“Where’s the kaboom? There was supposed to be a an earth shattering KABOOM!”

Much win with him.
Even if there is a little controversy of him being somebody in black face.
Marvin the Martian Poupon your face.
?? Really? But.. but he’s a CARTOON ALIEN. And… and.. I mean… oh, for the love of God…
just awesome.
love him!
Following that logic, I assume he would have just continued blowing up planets until nothing but Mercury and Pluto were left. (Pluto was still a planet when these cartoons were made.)
I miss planet Pluto :’(
Hey, that should be a nostalgic win on here! Or do we have to wait a few more years?
I’m sorry. These later WB cartoons are crap.
Marvin the Martian… best alien ever.
“Do you have any words for the people back home, Bugs?”
“Yes I do…
GET ME OUTTA HERE!!”
/Marvin’s awesome.
WIN WIN WIN!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOOOOOVVVE MARVIN!!! I had a Marvin the Martian doormat until someone STOLE IT!!! The bastards! I wish there were ways to vote more and make this even more of a WIN!!!
I have to agree that this was a poor choice as a representative of the great Marvin. Here’s the Bug’s 1958 encounter:
Bugs’? Bugs’s? Bugses’? Whatever the possessive of Bugs is!
Bugs’
OK!!! THIS makes it ever MORE of a WIN!!! This is how I remember it!!! $:D HUGS AND SMOOCHES FOR NoOneOfConsequence!!!
I concur! Hugs and smoochies!
Now someone needs to do the Gossamer cartoons!!!

“You can’t blow up the Earth! All the people I Know are on the Earth!”
At what point did this alien get a name?
Wiki sez: “Marvin was never named in the original shorts (though he was called Commander, Flying Saucer X-2 in The Hasty Hare in 1952), but decades later when the character attracted merchandising interest, the current name was selected.”
I just bought a two CD set of all the space cartoons the WB put out in the early days. It has all the MM cartoons on one of them. Definite WIN!!!
Every time I set up a DVD player to an old TV that requires an RF Modulator, I have to give play-by-play in a Marvin the Martian voice. Because “Modulator.”
Ahaha,win!
I love Marvin the Martian. I think he’s one of the best characters Looney Tunes ever came up with. It’s a shame he’s almost ignored compared to Bugs, Daffy etc. Maybe the “less is more” approach they used with him helps make him so special. They always kept us hungry for more rather than over-using him.
Another related epic win is the SNES game Daffy Duck: the Marvin Missions. That was an epic use of the classic Marvin cartoons in a video game. The only thing that would have been even better would be if they had made both Daffy and Marvin playable. Why they didn’t call the game ‘Duck Dodgers and the 27th and a Half Century’ is beyond me. Daffy didn’t go by his “real” name in the Marvin cartoons. Anyway, its one of the few great Looney Toon based video games.
Um, excuse me, Mike… Isn’t the quote actually from some other Marvin the Martian cartoon?
No worries, Mike, sorry about that. I found that the quotes were actually from ‘Hare-Way to the Stars’, not ‘Spaced Out Bunny’.
