Epic Win: American Gladiators
Submitted by S Painter
Since I was a little kid, I always wanted to do Assault and Joust against a gladiator. This is great: the Wikipedia list of American Gladiator events.
Anyway, nobody talk about NBC’s American Gladiators remake. Let’s just not go there at all.

American Gladiotars, so full of win.
I used to watch the British version with the Scottish man with a whistle. My favorite event was the one where they had to beat the crap out of each other with masive Q-Tips. Me and my brother would act it out. With normal sized Q-Tips…
Blast from the ass
You seem to have some sort of fetish.
I thought the fact that everyone was ignoring it would make him stop, but apparently it’s a very deep psychological issue for him.
If you dont like it report him.
2 words: Mike Adamle.
Oh, and the women’s hair! lololol
American Gladiators was totally on the other morning while I was getting ready for work and guess who used to be the host? A one Mr. Ryan Seacrest. That’s right, everyone’s favorite pint sized personality got his start on Gladiators 2000 (which actually was in 1994, but whatever). It’s true; check it out here http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0780435/
The good old days when nobody knew or cared what steroids were!
yes. those were the good ole days. but i do like the new and improved hot chicks. i can watch CRUSH all day.
holy gender stereotyping! all the men are characterized as “aggressive, violent, ect.” and the women are “sexy, but always a lady”??? lolz
Come on. Its just an old show, please don’t get ranting on stereotyping. Just please get over it, or just stop looking at this blog. There are most likely going to be more submissions with your complaints so, you don’t have to be here.
“very feminine” and holy crow, Sunny’s side pony is amazing!
At the time, there was a rumor that “American Gladiators” was Bill Clinton’s favorite TV show!
I watched this all the time when I was younger, I had to get babysat in the summer so this was my highlight lol
I had a crush on Tower. Yes, I’ll admit it… and I still watch the reruns when I can catch it to see if it’s one that he’s on…
The British version was SO much better.. it had a MIGHTY theme tune that blows this rubbish out of the water..!

Amazing!
I’m sure one of my friends had a Gladiators album when I was a kid. Fantastic..!
OMFG! I loved this show (well, not the whole show, but must of you will admit you wanted to take on the final obstacle course). Anyone remember that rumor of that one guy that was quoted as being Steve-O’s “Long lost father”?
I was really freaked out when we noticed the last few rows of the audience were actually cardboard cutouts. I always used to wonder what it would be like sitting in front of the cutouts…
I started watching this show when a local newscaster (from houston) became one of the hosts.
she was hot!!!!!!!
still to this day, 2 friends and I occasionally quote the show.
in the game that they were hanging from the rings and had to go across, they had to keep moving.
if they were in the same place too long someone off camera would yell:
“Gladiator gotta moooooove!!!!!!”
“Contestant gotta moooooove!!!!!!
we yell this if someone is taking too long.
The first season had some great stuff in it. Instead of the usual refs they had some dude in an executioner’s mask. The joust wasn’t on those little pedestals but a bridge with a trap that probably was going to kill someone, and the assault course looked less like the set of Tron and more like a bombed out city. Good times.
CZONK!
Show of hands: who built their own Eliminator, and/or other events (Joust, Atlasphere, Powerball)?
*hand*
