You can see it in a few spots, it's the building with the huge skinny tower thinger, that was actually only a skylight. This was Rose Park and you can see it on an advertisement in the field. The place is actually a dump filled with border hoppers and trash. The fair that they went to is the Utah State Fair which is also a load of dump but everyone still has to go to it. If your a Rose Park Kid, you know about this movie and you're proud. This section was actually filmed right across the street from my old elementary school. I love the innocence in this movie- back when kids COULD go be kids and get into some kid-appropriate trouble during the summer, and then all meet up for a neighborhood bbq, when a big dog was the scariest thing any of them knew of, and sneaking chewing tobacco (with it's well-learned lesson) is the closet thing to hard drugs any of them had heard of! Not necessarily the "you play like a girl" (though it is amusing that this is seen as the "ultimate" here) but harkening back to the days when "fart sniffer" and "buttscratcher" were truly considered real insults. It's just refreshing, since now in even media about kids we live in an age where you can't insult someone without swearing at them. "Bobbing for apples in the toilet"? Priceless.
