Epic Win: Collapsing Wooden Toys

Who didn’t love these? The best part was figuring out how to make them dance and completely collapse. These seem to be pretty hard to find. I found some at a drug store recently but they aren’t very responsive and don’t dance or collapse.

I loved those too. I used to be surprised when you made them lean down and then they sprang up again.
My hubbie and I have two that we were given when we moved into our new house. I guess they are a staple to his family. I LOVE THEM.
How many animals were there? I remember collapsing cows and pigs, but never deer like in the picture.
The best is telling kid not to play with and, when he eventually does and makes it collapse, watch them flip out.
I had a teddy bear one once…
They sell them at Cost Plus/World Market a lot. I liked to make the doggy’s leg twitch just a tiny bit.
Here in Finland, you sometimes find these from secondhand shops&marketplaces during summer. And my cousin had a naughty one,a man jumping out from a coffin with a qyuite a boner..
Nowadays, you only see cheap plastic versions.
These are sold at a historic town near my own town (I live in Texas) that has a lot of pioneer/cowboy-esque history. There are old houses made into shops and one of the shops is owned by some nice German-family people…and theses are sold her. I like to make them snap and make sounds.
In Frankfurt they sell them at the main trainstation, there’s some dude who’s got a lot of wooden toys for sale who sells them. I bought a few on my way back to the Netherlands after my job interview, I have since seen the guy again but since moving to Germany I don’t have the money to waste sadly enough
You can usually find the good ones in places like Frankenmuth, MI and other historic-type tourist towns. I know that you can get them in Frankenmuth and I’ve seen them other places like that recently.

I’ve been collecting them from this site for a few years now. They are exact replicas of the old-school wooden ones, and they have hundreds of animals to choose from. Soo good!

I had tons of these as a kid. We’d sit on the floor in church and play with them for the hour-long church service– I think I still have some!
All I rem having are the plastic ones-one being a Mickey Mouse-and I’m 41 yrs old. Guess I just never got one of the good ones, but these were still fun.

I used to work in an arcade at a theme park in Scotland. They have them there in the prize box. And the little peel-back doodle pads.
