Even though we just covered Doug last week, The Beets deserve their own Epic Win for being a totally catchy, totally fictional rock band. Inspired by the Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones and other famous British bands, The Beets captured our attention just as much as they did Doug, with hits like Killer Tofu on the Beetmania tour. Just try watching the video without getting it stuck in your head. We dare ya.

Hellz to the yeah. I remember having the tape they released with music from Doug on it. All I ever listened to was Killer Tofu, I Need More Allowance, and Shout Your Lungs Out. I even have MP3s of these songs to this day.
i know that they have “shout your lungs out” on guitar hero or rock star these days.
I was singing this song in the shower, literally 5 minutes ago. HOW STRANGE

Is it a bad thing when you’re capable of singing right along with the music the first time you’ve heard the song in…oh, 10 years?
That song was awesome. When Doug went to the Disney Channel it really started to suck, but anyone who saw that show remembers that song and more thank likley the words.

I remember this, I Need More Allowance, and the Bangin’ On A Trashcan one. I occasionally still get them stuck in my head.
The Beets were the bomb! I have to say, though, that in addition to The Beatles, The Who, and The Rolling Stones, there are definite Police influences in Killer Tofu.
