Wow, I completely forgot about GeoSafari! The last time I recall using it was somewhere in elementary school. Looking at it now, I would probably be confused as to how you use it.
I got one of those somewhere.
I found it too easy as a kid.
shut up braggerty mcbraggelsworth
my grandmother had one of these a while ago. i remember the buttons were hard to push sometimes.
Hellz yeah, I remember Geosafari. Awesome.
Are they still around? They should be.
There’s still one in the top of the closet in the spare bedroom at my parents house!
I REALLY want to play this now haha. It was so gratifying when you got all the questions right and it did that little beepy triumph thing haha.
Ahhhhh, I LOVED GeoSafari when I was a kid! I learned a lot from that. Really helped rounding out the homeschooling curriculum. Now I kinda wish we still had it.
Oh I so loved Geosafari when I was a kid! Played it all the time in elementary school
I never had one of these, but did anyone else have the computer program of it??
Oh I did!! I got all the quizzes in all three categories right, and got the trophies: I was so proud! (And then the next day a virus wiped our hard drive- I was devastated.)
I still play it (and I’m in my 20s, lol!) I still learn stuff from that- always more fun to learn from a computer than a textbook!
I’m in my 20s, and if I could find my disc, I’d still play it!
Now I’ll have to drive up to my mom’s and see if it’s in her little collection of old games(Oregon Trail, King’s Quest, Kid Pix, Torrin’s Passage, etc). lol.
I did – I *hated* it! I just remember the voice made me feel horribly inferior, it was so condescending! haha.
My brother’s childminder has something like this, except it’s a globe (we’re English so we wouldn’t want one of the USA)
I think you’re supposed to be able to switch out the cards, so that you can have map of different places… but I could be wrong.
If not, “geo” (meaning “earth” in greek you know) would be a bit hyperbolic *g*
The GeoSafari is still around. They’ve branched out into a series of new products. Like talking microscopes. Look it up.
We still have our Geosafari and all the cards. I loved this game; it was the only way you ould get me to learn things because I hated reading. Next time I go home, I should see if it actually works.
why does there appear to be 51 states? what that little one next to Hawaii?
It’s probably Puerto Rico.
Puerto Rico’s not a state.
Get outta my map you island.
besides Puerto Rico is the large island right below florida. That does not explain the 3rd box.
Guam?
Microsoft Bob! I Choose YOU to play a game of GeoSafari with me!
I had completely forgotten about this! This was my favorite toy in the latter years of elementary school.
I think I have that to thank for the fact that I can recall all the 50 State Capitols. LOL
I was homeschooled too, and I liked my Geosafari a lot. When I did go to public school, we had one in my 4th grade class. I was the only one in my class that owned one.
I guess I’m too old… these came out after I graduated high school. Looks like fun though!
I would always do my classwork as fast as possible so I could be the first to play GeoSafari and annoy all the other kids with my beeping geography skillz.
I always hated these >.<
Oh god, Im 12 and I remember those things x_x
