Epic Win: Squeezit

win-pictures-squeezit

Submitted by S Campana

Squeezits were just a glorified juice box, but for some reason squeezing the juice into your mouth instead of sucking it through a straw made it that much more delicious. It’s probably because it was the sweetest, most non-healthy, funny colored kids beverage on the market at a time when most kids drinks were still mostly-natural juice drinks, except kool-aid and CapriSun. For whatever reason, they’ll always hold a nostalgic place in the memories of our childhood.

» 52 Blasts From The Past

  1. kiki1013 says:

we only liked them cuz the bottles had funny faces..

  2. Sniper Kitteh says:

I was addicted to those for the longest time.

  3. curbie54 says:

Hey, isn’t that the girl from Jurasic Park? Man she annoyed the crap out of me.

I always thought this commercial was creepy… those kids are drinking out of live bottles. And the juice wasn’t even good.

    • Lizzle says:

I can’t tell if that’s her.. would be funny if it was though. Xd

What I remember from these is the commercial.. I don’t think I ever actually drank this stuff. o.o

  4. PPG says:

    Yeeeaaahhh….no.

Sorry, can’t agree with this one. Those things were GROSS. Plus, they made the back of my throat raw. Like it had too much citric acid, or something. Blech.

    • MrEricSir says:

Sometime in high school I decided to try these again as a bit of nostalgia. They actually tasted far worse than I remembered.

Plus there’s probably some kind of horribly toxic chemicals in the plastic to make them so flexible…

  5. wesley says:

um yeah, uh did anyone ese notice “squeeze the fun out of it” and gross, 0:16 blue ones tounge gross!

  6. Chass says:

I rarely convinced my mother to buy these for me, but when I did, they were gone so fast, and then I used the bottle as a water gun :D

    • ginandtonic says:

Yeah, my brother and I did the same thing. We also saved the twist off tabs and pretended that they were fighter jets.

  7. MadAriad says:

Oh man these were disgusting but we drank so many, especially in the summer when it was really hot out. Did they have any real ingredients at all?

  8. Stick says:

I loved these and, I think, they were called Jugs- the ones shaped like barrels.

  9. Rachel says:

In the UK these are called Twist n Squeeze :D

I love them but the don’t last long so I always have to buy at least 3.

  10. Ren says:

And they had the ones that had the little tablets to make ‘em change colors, would just be mesmerized by it.

  11. Higgens says:

I loved those things things! But man they were gone in like 2 seconds!

  12. bibbie says:

I remember the best thing about these was in the summer using the bottle as a squirt gun and running around with the other kids in the neighborhood squirting each other.

  13. pamcakez says:

My brother and I were just talking about these yesterday! We’d always walk up to the corner store and buy them, SO AWESOME! Do they still make em?

  14. Miroku says:

Loved the Squeezit. Mondo was alright, but Squeezit was the good stuff.

  15. Anonymous says:

They tasted like warm plastic, but kind of in a good way!

  16. Ragtatter says:

Man, these things were so nasty, but I loved them.

I would always chew on the plastic twist-off top for like an hour after the juice was gone, but then again I was a weird kid.

  17. Mae says:

My gramma used to stock these in her fridge for my little brother and me… I always had one with a handfull of girlscout cookies before bed because I have a problem with milk… I cant say it was the best tasting mix ever but the bottle had a FACE on it it was AWESOME lol.

  18. dardub says:

    I found mondo: http://www.jelsert.com/products_mondo.asp
but sadly couldn’t find any squeezits. Squeezits were definitely my choice. They were nasty but couldn’t get enough of it.

  19. DS says:

Kool-Aide makes something similar for like a buck.

  20. Tsuki says:

XD Those things were horrible! They tasted like the plastic bottles that they came in. I didn’t like them, even when I was a kid. My brother did though. XD

  21. Wolfe says:

these things make you even more thirstier than you were to begin with!!!! god i hated these things, but they were soooo addictive!!!

  22. That one person says:

i remember that some had the little pill you put in to change the color…

  23. Kim says:

they’re called Twist ‘n’ Squeeze in the UK

  24. Adrienne says:

I liked them because I could clamp on to them with my little kid hands drink them in about 2 second

  25. Beth says:

I completely forgot about these until I saw it on this site.

  26. Gaz says:

Haha, I used to take the tops of them from off the playground floor and use them as space ships. I had a huge collection. I actually saw one the other day and was half tempted to pick it up just out of nostalgia! I should have.

  27. Amanda says:

Does anyone else remember that these also used to come with a jello like substance in them? I swear I remember eating something like that when i was a kid!

    • Poddo says:

Yes. Everytime Someone talks about them, thats what I think of. I finally figured out the name too. They were called Gelooze. I would always swish the jello around in my mouth until it became a liquid

  28. Kate says:

Did anyone else re-use the bottles as a make-shift squirt gun when they were done?

  29. Eryn says:

Did anyone else use the twist-off tops as vampire teeth, or were the kids in my neighborhood just weird?

  30. sam says:

you can go to this website and sign a petition to try and bring them back:)

    http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/petition-sign.cgi?ranger

  31. elliott says:

I used to play a game with my dad where he would throw the bottles and i would run and catch them.. after drinking them and getting a sugar high of course

  32. Anonymous says:

I loved these as a kid, after every softball game it would be a parents turn to bring drinks and they always brought these……Maybe they just tasted delicious then because we were so tired after a game mud would’ve tasted okay.

  33. Kat says:

One of my earliest memories is of me getting one of those at my cousin’s house. I didn’t understand it. “Squeeze it,” my aunt said.
    I did.
But I didn’t put it in my mouth first, so it got all over me.

  34. YourDrugAddictDaughter says:

    Oh My Gosh!

    I Can Barley Remember These!!
I Can Only Remember The Awesome Taste
Having A Tough Time Getting Them Open
And Wondering Which Carton I’ll Drink That Day

  35. Zero says:

Oh god I remember drinking these all the time. I loved the faces on the bottles. I remember drinking these almost constantly growing up. If they still sold them, I would still buy them.

  36. Puppi says:

I found some of the Kool-aid ones at the store once (one of those ‘food mart’ places that always get weird stuff in). I almost bought some, but then I saw some Dunkeroos and those won the nostalgia battle.

  37. Julie says:

Were my brother and I the only ones to take the tops and whistle with them after we were done?

  38. Stephanie says:

I was always jealous of kids who got these for lunch. My parents are super cheap and never got me gummy things or neat looking drinks :(
When the other kids threw away the bottles I’d take them out of the garbage and check out the faces.
Only ever have drunk like maybe 2 of these in my life, and they were both… red… flavoured.
The things we wanted as kids… tsk

  39. Noctem says:

I was a huge fan of these- I loved the grape and berry ones but HATED the cherry ones. I also used to chew on the twist-off top afterward.

  40. RockSprites says:

    The commercial was almost dirty.

I used to love chewing on those bottles as I drank the juice. My grandma always had them in the fridge.

  41. joanna says:

what were the ones called that came with little tablets and the changed the colors and flavors?

  42. ross says:

these things are still available to buy in the UK but there still the same sugary as hell and as powerful as stomach acid.
