Bugs Bunny’s PSAs were an epic win for mixing live action with cartoon so it made it easier to relate the video to our own kitchens. Remember hearing the voices from the PSA in your own kitchen after seeing this video on Saturday morning for the millionth time?

I still to this day hear the caution about the pot handles….and I’m in my 30s with kids of my own. Just goes to show how influential this was – at least to me.
SAME! You took the words right out of my mouth. I always think of the talking pot when I see the handle and turn it! lol
haha me too, just last week I told someone to keep those pot handles turned in! I guess this PSA worked.
my husband was sitting on the couch and said “oh my god! have not seen that in years” and ran over to watch, along with my two girls. it must have worked, because i always remember to do like bugs said!
Amazing how so many years later, it’s still burned into my head. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve turned handles back onto the stove, and I’m the only one in the house at the time!!!

Yep. I’m 34 and I turn my pothandles in when I’m alone too. And I think of this everytime. I can’t believe how influential this was.
I’m in my late twenties, and live alone, but I still hear Bugs Bunny saying “Keep those pot handles twernd in” every time I cook. I do, too.
There was also one with Tweety Bird. It was about a bathtub and turning the hot water off first, then the cold. The tagline at the end was, “Hot water can burn in only thwee seconds!”.

YES! I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about. Thats what I was hoping this one was and i was kinda disappointed. I didn’t have any luck finding it either. Anyone else?
Ack, me too! I still think of that when I find out the faucet is turned hotter than I expect. I don’t even like tweety, but that danged warning has stuck with me all these years.

I was cooking last week and this PSA skittered through my mind. And yep, I turned in the pot handle!
After reading the comments, I’m glad to see I’m part of the group. The pot handle thing is something Ive always done automatically. It seriously bothers me if I see a handle pointing out. (Btw, theres no one under the age of 22 in my house). I’ve never thought anything of it. Just watched the video and it came rushing back to me.Haha that PSA definitely brainwashed me.
