Epic Win: Teeny Little Super Guy

Submitted by Tara K

Remember all the awesome wisdom Teeny Little Super Guy used to impart on us during Sesame Street? We were always fascinated by the stop-motion animation where he would melt into the countertop or spin around and change costume.

I LOVED this cartoon. R.W. Shipshape was also in another episode, in which is “Really Good Hat” got run over.

  2. brmbug says:

Awesome. My favorite one was where the kid learned to ride the eggbeater. :D

    • Nightlyeclipse says:

Mine too! I found that on Youtube and my kids love TLSG now. I think I actually squealed when I saw this on the main page. :) I grew up with Sesame Street and I love seeing my favorite old skits from it.

  3. MightyLog says:

You know, suddenly I want to have a pet spoon. I’m sure they’d be cleaner than the cats and dog…

    8-)

The whole site gets an epic win for the recent focus on two things I love: great children’s books and great animation.

I don’t suppose anyone knows how this was animated? Hundreds of different glasses with different paintings on each? Clear inserts that go inside of the glass. Heck, I studied animation in college and I don’t know for sure. But I have very fond memories of these and many many other Sesame Street segments.

I’m pretty sure they’ve done the drawing on the outside of tons of different cups. It would be much easier get the positioning for stop motion done that way. Also, when he spins around there’s a big difference when you see the drawing through the plastic of the cup. But yeah, it’s hard to be 100% sure how they did it, especially with the video quality.

So cool! I was thinking about him just the other day! Thanks for this WIN!!! He was one of my childhood favorites. (((much hugz)))

  6. TheObject says:

Truly an epic win. The only SS segment better than this one was the Pinball Sequence. I used to watch the show just for these as a kid.

  7. Brian says:

    I want a pet spoon!

  8. MJ says:

    I remember him!

  9. Lynn says:

I absolutely loved this bit!!! I agree, the one where the kid learns to ride the eggbeater is fantastic!!!

  10. RankMyTyping says:

Yessssssssssss! I totally forgot about this!

  11. utaduta says:

this is one of my fav things from seaseme street! i know the song by heart! i found it on youtube for my kids to watch. the new stuff on seaseme street is not as cool as the old school stuff! yes the kid riding the eggbeater is a epic win!

  12. Rain says:

Hell f*in’ yeah! Teeny Little Super Guy was the MAN!!!

  13. Karen says:

Screw Elmo … Sesame Street has gone down sooo much in the past few years. Teeny Little Super guy was such a great idea and fascinating to watch too. I found this on YouTube a while ago and just relived my childhood all over again.

Also, someone mentioned the Pinball Song … one two three four five … six seven eight nine ten … eleven … twelveeee …!!! Loved that animation and the song is really catchy too. I actually have that as my cell phone ringer. :)

  14. Redd says:

When I was really little, (like three) this guy scared me, and made me think that the Smurfs on my favorite cup could come alive. By the time I was five or so, this was my favorite segment on Sesame Street!

  15. GandWuser says:

I LOVED this when I was little! He was so cool! But then he disappeared, and I haven’t seen him till now, over 8 years later. Yes I am young.

  16. D.R. says:

I loved that little guy. I so wished I could move like that. :)

  17. bluegizka says:

holy epic win, batman! I barely remember this!

My house had sesame street on for probably a good 9 years (3 kids, born 3 years apart) from late-89 to 95. Was this more an 80’s thing? The intro is familiar, but I don’t remember any specific episodes.

  18. meowcat2 says:

ahhh! i forgot about this! Now i remeber watching this when i was a kid!

  19. Muttly says:

O_O I had completely forgotten about this! I love that little cup dude!

  20. Kelly says:

    I loved that guy!

  21. Stephanie says:

My absolute 100% favourite Sesame Street bit! I still love it to death! I’m so glad other people remember it and that it’s on the internet so I can watch it again!!

  22. bixlar says:

wow. i remember being incredibly confused as a kid how a cup could materialize out of a cupboard and counter-top.
