Epic Win: The Little Kitten

once upon a win

Submitted by Teresa R

Oh Pickle… All the mischief you get into. Without the trials and mistakes that Pickle’s owner makes, we wouldn’t have had this book, with great photos, acting as a guide for small kids on how to treat new animal friends into the family.

  1. relly says:

    I don’t remember this.

  2. Katie says:

One of my cats is named after the cat in this book.
(And it’s all my fault! I was little when I named her though)
    :)

    • Kate says:

ME TOO..ok Mr Pickles died a long time ago..but remember the duck and the lamb book that went with this??

      • Jessi says:

Yep. And I found all three at B&N recently to add to my collection for my kids :-)

        • Nightlyeclipse says:

I only had the kitten and the bunny ones. The kitten one was my first book I ever read myself though. I wonder if it’s still at my parents’?

  3. ... says:

He has no style. He has no grace. This Kong has a funny face.

I didn’t have this one but I had a ton of those books.

  14. Metz says:

Yay! I’m so glad! (I’m Teresa R.) I’ve been reading this book and The Little Puppy to my 6yr old son. I’ve had them since I was a kid and still love them!
Gotta love the awesum 70’s styling fashions and hair too right?

  15. lovecatz says:

Wow…I was just thinking about this book the other day but couldn’t remember the title XD. I remember taking this book into my school and reading it to my classmates (I was eight). I had The Little Puppy book too.

  16. kira says:

    OMG PICKLE

  17. Meredith says:

  18. Kara says:

OMG I have this book! And The Little Puppy, and The Little Rabbit too! I haven’t thought about these in YEARS! Pickle was always my favorite!

  19. Sarah says:

I don’t think I ever read this book, which is weird considering my obsession with cats. I had The Little Rabbit, but I don’t know what happened to it. :[

  20. Mandy says:

I have all the books in this series right here on my bookshelf. So awesome!

  21. cairis says:

  22. Musicmom870 says:

I have this one in my preschool classroom. Definitely pure WIN!

  23. Carolyn says:

I grew up in CT in the 70s. My mother was friends with the author/photographer of these books. She lived in New Canaan CT. My brother was supposed to be one of the children her in book-series, but he got a big scratch on his face right before photo-day. He was out and another kid was in. Doh!

  24. Nusi says:

This was the first book I ever read!

  25. Nina says:

I think I have this book somewhere. Or at least we used to.

  26. Laura says:

OMG I loved this book when I was a kid.

  27. Mrs Embers says:

Awww! I had the bunny one, and I remember wanting a bunny SO BAD…

  28. Emi says:

Oh man, this was a great book. I felt like I was the only person who ever had it. Unfortunately, I destroyed it when I was little by taking a red pen and coloring in the eyes. I think I did it anyway, or else my sister did. Regardless, I still loved it.

Now I have to acquire it again for my kids.
