Perhaps “Superfudge” is more recognizable? It’s odd, but I read that before “Tales of a Forth Grade Nothing” LoL. I hadn’t a clue they were the same story at first. I remember I read the latter simply because I was about to start fourth grade. ^_^

Yeah, I don’t remember anything about Santa in this book, but I do remember the Chanukkah Fairy.

Also, if you teach your pet Mynah how to speak, there’s a chance he’ll teach you how to fly! And if that doesn’t work, see if your new friend was adopted. There’s a chance he’s one of the refugees from planet Krypton and he might take you flying!

I loved Judy Blume’s books. I still remember random sentences from “Blubber” that pop into my head for no reason. The last sentence is something like “Her mother must be very proud.”

I’m 32 and still haven’t read “Forever.” Neither the school library nor my town’s public library carried it! Probably way too controversial for conservative east TX. I managed to read all the other Judy Blume books that were offered, though.

I LOVED all of the Fudge books. Hell, I loved all of Judy Blume’s books. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to catch up on my reading.

I am 39 now and when I was a young teen, Judy Blume books were not around in the UK. I used to send my American Friends Enid Blyton books and they would send me Judy Blume books. Tales.. was the first Judy Blume book I read.

My (now 19 year old) son read all the Fudge books and my (now 12 year old) son has also read them all.

Bless you, sir or madam….I was first exposed to “Tales” and “Superfudge” when my teachers read them aloud to the class. It’s nice to know that kids are still being exposed to quality literature that’s actually aimed at them.

And yeah, I still own copies of those books….and about five or six other kid-oriented Blume books that I recall fondly….and the Bunnicula series (well, the first three, anyway)….etc……what of it? Even if I can now read most of them straight through in an afternoon, they’re still good reading.

Yes! I’m a teacher and I just finished reading “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing” with a group of students! The kids totally loved it, especially the end. They’ve already started on SuperFudge, but alas, I have to miss out on that one.

Why “Superfudge” as opposed to “Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing,” which is the first book in the series? Not saying it’s a bad choice; I’m just wondering what this book has that the other in the same series don’t.

Judy Blume not only introduced me to Margaret & her conversations with God & how to increase her bust size, she also introduced me to “Ralph”, page 85 of her book “Forever” (yes I actually remember the page).

That changed me MUCH more than Superfudge ever did.
