Epic Win: Perfection

Submitted by IGTBLWFID

Most kids weren’t allowed to play Perfection or it was quickly taken away because of the loud ticking noise followed by the squeeling and screaming that came after the game popped all your hard work out of place. Virtually impossible to win at unless you practice for hours on end, as this college student demonstrates…

The guy who invented this thing surely hated Perfection as a kid.

Incorrect source or offensive?

» 32 Blasts From The Past

  1. Puppatoons says:

It always scared me to death when the buzzer went off and the pieces flew willy-nilly everywhere. And what did I do? Go right back for more!!

    • Gennums says:

yes! i did to, loved it yet hated it at the same time. played it at me grandparents house, and my grandpa yelled at me when the timer went off, my grandma just laughed when i was frustrated. ahh, good times, good times eh?

  2. that guy in the commercial always scared me. i loved the game though. i actually got to the point where i could beat it with seconds to spare, and i would wait out the clock so all of them would go flying.

  3. connor says:

i so remember this game. i was scared to play it at first because i thought my chest would pop out like that guy’s did. once i figured that it doesnt actually make your chest pop out it was fun lol

  4. remolay says:

I used to love this game. I no longer know why. It startles the crud outta me

  5. niclol says:

i loved this game! i totally used to cheat though, i would arrange all the pieces in the right order before i started the timer and then transfer them all to their spaces. so i definitely tip my hat to anyone to actually beat it honestly. that takes dedication lol

    • Edward says:

For whose benefit were you cheating? Did childhood establish a pattern for you, whereby you must always win, even if it isn’t legitimate?

    • Anonymous says:

Heh I cheated a LOT too. I would twist the timer back to give myself another few seconds while I scrambled frantically for the piece that fit in THAT one particular slot. My favorite pieces were the S shaped ones… I’m not sure why. They just made me happeh :P

  6. Psycholadeh says:

Loved this game sooo much! No matter how many times it scared me.

  7. ma.belle.fleur says:

This game was so much fun! But it used to give me a crap load of anxiety trying to complete it on time. Then it would give me a freaking heart attack when it exploded! The things kids love. lols.

  8. Kewlio says:

Did anyone have the two player version of this game? It had two boards, the timer, and a trigger button on each side…so not only were you playing against the clock, you were also playing against an adversary. If they finished first, they hit their trigger and your board would pop out, and vice versa…and if the timer finished first, both boards would pop. XD

  9. NedMark says:

    I didn’t know this version.
My mom gave me “Superfection” for X-mas.
Just as scary, quite a bit harder.

  10. Dexaan says:

How many people cheated by holding the timer still?

  11. JayPea says:

My son could beat the timer by the time he went to kindergarten. I guess those college students had a different kind of liquid refreshment when they played it.

  12. Edward says:

    That robot is freaking amazing!

  13. ascatal says:

oi this game nearly cost me my sanity at age 12

  14. MettanAtem says:

In Health class, I had to wear this “Fatal Vision Goggles” to simulate drunkenness and do one of these things.

  15. MissusMandy says:

I was one of the people who would cheat by either arranging the pieces beforehand or putting one or two in the board before starting the timer. Also, can anyone remember another version of this game? It seemed to me that there was a similar one where you had to put together little puzzles and put them in the board before you ran out of time. I have searched everywhere to try and find this, but who knows, maybe it’s just a figment of my imagination.

  16. Cecona says:

I always finished the game before I even started the timer. then I would go and hide and wait for the timer to go off and make a mess of the game before doing it again. I have no idea why I did this…

  17. shahinrani says:

Oh, man, I loved this thing! My brother and I used to pretend we were the bomb squad, and we had to locate the bomb (which was pretty easy since we were the ones who hid it) and disarm it! It was great!

  18. nikki says:

This game made me so anxious eventually because the buzzer scared the crap out of me that I could only play it a few times without cheating and stopping the timer.

  19. Kristi St. Clair says:

lol yeah i remember this game..this and operation, candy land and all those games i was always so scared by the damn timer when it went off lol!

  20. sjon says:

i like the guy who wasted his life beating this game whit a robot.

  21. Cereal says:

Whoa, I remember this! I only played once, and lost. :(

  22. Anonymous says:

actually I um practically always won…

but that’s more because I have the type of personality that has to do something until I get it right.

    ..I miss that game..

  23. Llaura says:

Does anyone remember the camel where you have to load him all up before he jumps, and if stuff falls off, you lose and have to start all over?
    Good fun.

  24. Erin says:

    I remember that game!
The noise it would make while it was being timed was so annoying.
    I could never finish :/

  25. pjs says:

I actually used to be able to beat this. Once you remember where the position for each shape is it’s possible. But I didn’t get to play too much because of the loudness of the timer part would annoy the parents.

Also does anyone else feel the robot is cheating? I’d like to see the robot pick up the pieces from the box lid after it’s shaken so they’re all positioned and lying about randomly. At least that’s how it’s _supposed_ to be played. If they’re upright (and probably in order), then it doesn’t really count.

  26. Stick says:

Was I the only one who put the pices in and then set the timer? I think I only played it right once or twice- it was much more fun seeing the parts go flyting
One thing: God forbid you lost a pice-you’d be sure to step on it in barefeet. (Or, worse yet, your parents!)

  27. HydrentMonkey says:

ehh I remember at my daycare they had this game and I could beat it without cheating but I only could do it every so often.
