Epic Win: Cookie Crisp Cereal

Once upon A Win

Submitted by katsak

Mmmm, delicious cookies disguised as cereal. Did anyone actually eat these with milk or did they just snack on them in the afternoons or stashed in lunchboxes for school?

» 47 Blasts From The Past

  1. Leaving a Blast says:

I never got to try these, even though I saw them i the supermarket often.

    • NoOneInteresting says:

Try them now. They still make them.

      • Bart says:

I doubt they still give free mini skateboards with it :(

        • 'donis says:

          they dont;_;
i like the old box best
          these new boxes are lame

          • Chelsea says:

they don’t give you any toys in cereal anymore.

at least i still have like 10 changing color trix spoons.

bring back (quality) toys in cereal (sometimes you still get lucky, but they are always lame and right on top… ugh… eating the box of cereal or digging out the toy when you’re siblings weren’t around was the best part)

  2. Audball says:

Oh my God…these are amazing. I still buy them. Of course, they’ve changed the packaging and whatnot (there’s now a stupid wolf-thingy on the box) but they’re still delicious. I’m going to go eat some now!

  3. Sarah says:

My mom would never buy them for me. I guess the idea of cookie cereal just didn’t appeal to her.

    • Mercer says:

Anybody else notice the recipe change? There’s a generic equivalent that still tastes like the original though. Now I’ve gotta go buy some dammit, I haven’t had this in years.

  4. firefox737 says:

    Artificial chocolate chip flavour? Hooray!

  5. Bellesouth says:

Epic FAIL! Sorry, people – but I was so disappointed when I ate these as a kid and they didn’t taste anything like chocolate-chip cookies. I was expecting a bowl full of Chips Ahoy. Maybe that was too much to expect from a kid’s cereal.

  6. OtherBill says:

Just admit it, you’re eating cookies for breakfast. :-)

  7. Vi31 says:

Oh, this is such such an epic win for me. This stuff takes me back to nights on my garndparents farm. The generic equivilant is very good. This stuff was awesome!!!!

  8. RevATC says:

Wouldn’t think they’d get away with sweeteners and artificial flavors these days!

  9. Fnnkybutt says:

I much preferred taking actual Chips Ahoys and crumbling them up in a bowl with milk. The cookie gets all mushy, and the chips get hard from the cold milk. Yummy. :)

  10. Allison says:

Loved cookie Crisp cereal. It’s just so damn expensive to buy anymore. :( And none of my stores carry any generic equivilant.

I also loved Scoops Ice Cream cereal. Anybody remember that? It was little crunchy white or brown balls (ice cream) and cones. Super yummy!

  11. Frostfox says:

Go read Breakfast Of The Gods – it’s a comic strip about the cereal cartoon characters. I’m in the UK and didn’t even know who most of them were but it was still brilliant.

  12. Cecona says:

I ate these when the mascot was a dog and not a wolf. Personally I liked the dog better then the wolf. Either way, they were really good. The idea of eating cookies for breakfast was awesome! But now I rarely get the chance to eat breakfast at all.

  13. Athanar says:

No way, I just saw a Cookie Crisp commercial as I was looking at this. XP

Also, remember the commercials where it had two dogs, then later it went to only having the one that didn’t always get hurt? What happened to the one that would always get hurt? One too many times?

  14. Jules says:

Blast from the past? These are in my pantry right now.

  15. Hello, computer says:

    MMMMMM. . . . . They’re still awesome. . . . .

  16. Machelle says:

    I…actually never liked those.,

  17. barboid says:

OMG! OMG! OMG! I love these things! and so do my kids! But we don’t buy very often ’cause they’re expensive and still full of sugar-like substances.

  18. Kelly says:

Wow. And my mum had a problem with frosties…

  19. MadAriad says:

Stupid Cookie Crisps. Mom never let me have any.

  20. Puppatoons says:

Definitely a snacker. Wow, these were and still are some of the tastiest little morsels on the cereal aisle.

  21. johhnysgirl says:

I was not allowed to have this kind of cereal as a kid. I remember once having these when I slept over at a friends house, and tho they didn’t taste anything like chocolate chip cookies they were still good.

Glad I didn’t eat them regularly tho. Taste so good but yet, so bad.

  22. bentleysaundersharrisonmatthews says:

Delicious cookies disguised as cereal? More like disgusting cereal disguised as cookies. Breakfast FAIL, marketing WIN.

    • Allison says:

You want to talk about marketing win?
      How about Apple Jacks?
The commercial TELLS the viewers it doesn’t taste like apples, and the kids can’t say for sure why they like it. Yet parents still buy this crap!
      What’s next? Soylet Green Flakes???

  23. Jessica says:

We didnt have these in Canada, so whenever my parents went down to the States they would bring them back for us, and it was a REALLY BIG DEAL.

  24. TomA says:

Saturday mornings, if I got up before Mom and Dad, and there was a box of this stuff in the house, it was gone faster than you could say “Type-II Diabetes!” It was almost as good as Cinnamon Toast Crunch.

  25. Jeremy says:

Lol I never knew that Purina made people food. I recognized the logo in the top right because its on dog food packages.

  26. Allison says:

Rub a little OxyClean on it, and it’ll be fine.

  27. Sydney says:

I miss the dog. When me and my sister wanted to be funny we would say “Hair for breakfast” instead of “Coooooooookies for breakfast” like that orange dog said. We were very immature back in our child days.

  28. dingo says:

Seeing this makes me want Cookie Crisp more than anything, and right now.

  29. aya valentine says:

I just went to help a caterer set up at someone’s house on Saturday, and the dude had a timeline of breakfast cereals on his wall. A little windowbox with a single piece of a bunch of cereals glued to a cardboard backing and labeled. Cookie Crisp was the last one. I think there was Trix, Froot Loops, Kix, Cocoa Puffs, Captain Crunch… Some others, too. It was a trip.

  30. Magni Prime says:

    O_O

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!

Cookie Crisp is truly the greatest cereal ever made! This is a timeless, epic, monumental, and insurmountable WIN!
