» 24 Blasts From The Past

  1. Fuzzi says:

Maybe it was regional, but I’d always seen this game named “Gulpin’ Guppies”

    • Cecona says:

I never worried about the name…I always saw the picture and go ‘WANT!!!’ Anyone remember the little travel sized version of this game? That’s the one I’m most familiar with.

  2. Casa says:

I forgot how freakin’ LOUD these things were! We had one in grade school, but we only got to play with it when it was to cold to go out to the playground. I remember the trick wasn’t so much to lift the fish when it’s mouth was closer as it was to hook the little ball-on-a-string between the fishies lil tiny plastic teeth…

  3. elark0 says:

I LOVED this! It had the fish, the crabs and…..the………umm…….were they supposed to be frogs?

  4. Fumbe says:

I remember being frustrated that I would get one then it’d open up or I’d go for one just as it closed… With my brother and I we’d spend more time batting each others poles out of the way than catching fish. This and the match the duck game were the loudest things in the house if I recall correctly, hehheh.

  5. cici says:

Oh my! This kind of makes me sad, now. My grandmother just passed away and we would play this while I was at her house. Man I would love to play that right now!

  6. GinandTonic says:

OMG, this game kept me amused for hours when I was a little kid! I had the travel sized version.

  7. Bob says:

This game was great for kids like me that had no friends. Lol

  8. Ellie says:

Wow, I almost completely forgot about this game. That’s why I love this section. It’s always making me go “OH YEAH! I remember those!” x3 I also remember the travel version of this game.

  9. D.R. says:

That was a good game. I loved all the different colors. :)

  10. MadAriad says:

My grandma still has this at her house from when we were kids. Every time we go there my kids head straight for it.

  11. meredith says:

Yup, I remember the travel one, not the big one. I was SO BAD at it.

  12. halfbacked says:

this game was so great. i still play it sometimes with my litle sister haha

  13. velcrodots says:

This was mint! I kept loosing the fish though :(

  14. Anonymous says:

OMG. I used to play this at my grandparent’s house when I was a kid all the time! My sisters, cousins, and I loved it.

  15. Blackbellied_Jack says:

The kids had one of these, It was called “Fish, Frogs and Prawns”. There were three types of critters to catch. What a great memory!

  16. Allison says:

My grandma took bro, sis and I to Coney Island once, even though my mom told her not to. Well she let me play the BIG carney-sized version of this, and I dipped the pole in and won the JUMBO prize! I was so damn excited!
Once we came home with it, Granny had to ‘fess up that she took us to Coney Island. :)

  17. Idene says:

ah, so many memories. I think i had a wind up version, sort of like a travel version, but it was so damn fun, and it sucked so much as RIGHT WHEN YOU’RE ABOUT TO GET THE FISH, it closes its mouth. TT~TT i miss that game. that and operation.

  18. Anonymous says:

They still make this game, I bought one for my son last year, and it looks EXACTLY the same!

  19. Sydney says:

I HAVE THIS GAME STILL. Boy now that you mention it I can’t even remember getting it…

  20. Phill says:

I still have mine back from the day it became a hand-me-down from my older brother, and I brang it to “Game Day” in Pre-School. I was the coolest four year old that lived.

  21. Beverly says:

I never played this in childhood. It was great fun to play in a college dorm room while totally drunk, though. Good times…

  22. Grown says:

    That kid is an idiot…
Doesn’t know the difference between orange and blue.
