Epic Win: Mad Libs

Once Upon A Win

Submitted by wanna smile

When’s the last time you played Mad Libs? Now you don’t have to hunt high and low for a book of them, you can play here and here.

Happy Monday from OUAW! Don’t let the boss catch you Mad Libbing, or you may have to do some ad-libbing (sorry, couldn’t resist).

  1. rose says:

this was the only game my brother and I could play that wouldn’t lead to a fight and somebody getting something thrown at their head. much laughter came from playing this game. thank you mad libs!

    • Cellenna says:

I grew up with an aunt that was only a few months older than me. This was our entertainment on a very long car ride from Montana to Southern Cali when we were about 4 or 5. Like you, it is the only thing that kept us from beating each other and my grandfather leaving us in the Redwood Forest for the squirrels. haha

    • Katie says:

I didn’t have siblings close enough to my age to fight with but I still loved this darn game. The illicit thrill of using cuss words wears off fast though.

  2. Jennifer says:

    And educational!

  3. Jiddi says:

This game is awesome. Who could possibly have voted it as a fail? It must’ve been a slip of the mouse… I hope.

    • Daliddlkid says:

I’m not going to lie. I honestly don’t find Mad Libs very funny at all. It’s just telling someone a random word that fits into their category, them writing it down and eventually, after this pattern has repeated enough times, they read some passage that makes absolutely no sense at all that uses the vocabulary that I had just suggested to them. Hilarious. But I really hate playing Mad Libs with someone who won’t accept a word that “makes too much sense to be funny”.
Yes, I did vote this a a fail

So people, you can bitch all you want (if you want) to me, but I just want you to realize that it won’t make Mad Libs seem any funnier to me.
      Just to let y’all know.

  4. Matador says:

I always hated these. Never knew they were called Mad Libs though.
I’d rather play a word search or “see how many words you can make out of these letters.”

  5. D.R. says:

Yes! How many completely messed-up things did you wind up saying with this?

  6. Mad-Libs (adjective) rules!

  7. Sadie Thompson says:

Does anyone else remember doing Mad Libs when you were young and just using variations of bad/scatological(sp?) words? When you tried to make “ass” an adverb? Or was it just me? Dear God, I hope not.

    • rofldiva says:

It wasn’t just you. You can find “adult” versions of Mad Libs now. Why I know this….

      • stef says:

YES you can! My sister in law got “adult” mad libs for my bachelorette party a few months ago. It was both fantastically dirty (we were about 3 margaritas in, so a whole table full of girls coming up with as many words for penis as we could seemed like a great idea) and delightfully nostalgic. <3

  8. Shimobe says:

My sister and I made our own! I think my parents only ever bought us one of the books, and we took it from there. We both got English degrees eventually. LOL!

  9. johhnysgirl says:

Mad Libs have saved many a road trip from steamrolling into carnage.

    Win!

  10. kiraboo says:

MadLlibs rock! Our 8th grade class took a week-long field trip from NY to Washington, D.C., and I don’t know how many books of MadLibs we went through. And of course, being 8th graders, we tended towards, well, not the most mature words, if you get my drift. MadLibs were also really popular on family road trips, too. Think of how many children were saved from injury (either from siblings or parents) thanks to MadLibs!

  11. MK says:

HELL YES! I loved and still love to play Mad Libs. I always played it with my brother on road trips.

  12. Jaed'rik Cobalt says:

:D I remember this one, How would you feel if someone read; And if you look to the left, you can see the ghost of Usher, bootylishiousing in the lincon laundry room. x3

  13. k!k! says:

omg we looovvveeedd these when i was a kid. they were only fun if you used “dirty” words though. :)

  14. Stick says:

My school’s newpaper contained a few MadLibs. We’re in 10th grade and haven’t played them since grade school. It was so much fun and brought back a lot of memories. Strangley we were still using the same words.

  15. For six weeks this summer, I was atsummer camp. One of the few good things in it was playing Mad Libs. :)

  16. llc says:

these were hilarious. i always put funny words in the blanks, then after a while, i started making my own. fun!
