Epic Win: Fisher Price Parking Garage

Once Upon A Win

Submitted by katsak

Fisher Price made some serious toys of win back in the day. The mooing barn was awesome, as was the bubble mower. But the parking garage ruled them all! Car goes up, car comes down…. good times!

Check out what the parking garage is going for on ebay right now. Hope you hung on to yours!

  2. Iszi says:

Wow! Never thought I’d see this online! My grandparents still have one of these, and my daughter plays with it every time we go over to their house!

  3. Cheryl says:

Aww, I had one of these! All that my parents have left, I think, is the car lift and a car or two. Our lift was green instead of blue…

  4. Seauxy says:

Yup. Totally still have this in my garage along with all my other Fisher Price toys. They rocked!

  5. T Wolfwind says:

    I miss it somedays….

  6. Logan Leger says:

I still have mine! I used to play with this so much when I was younger. Haha. Thanks for this nostalgic moment, Once Upon A Win.

  7. Gab says:

Ohh I had this one!!! I loved it so much! I think it’s still somewhere in my grandparents’ attic.
My sister had the barn. Those toys were awesome!

  8. nickiq says:

I loved the elevator!! My brother and I used micro machines (they need to be an Epic Win btw) with the garage sometimes instead of the FP car. Good times, good times.

  9. zyna_kitteh says:

Still have mine. My two nieces play with it whenever they visit, and they absolutely love it.

  10. Pamela says:

I loved this one. My version was slightly different from the one pictured. I wish I still had it…along with all my other fabulous toys from back in the day.

  11. Joe says:

WAAAH! That was my favorite toy. EVER.

The predator had some pretty epic battles with the Terminator on that thing.

  12. utaduta says:

ooooooH! loved mine. i played with it for hours. i also had a airport and airplane. i wish i still had mine, i’d still play with it.

  13. palsyboy says:

That toy was simply amazing. I’d forgotten all about it.

  14. ThinklePeep says:

I didn’t have one. My friend Charlene did. She had everything.
    /sad

  15. TonyRage says:

I just bought the new version for my nephew. It’s under the Little People brand and he loves it!

  16. Wing Dairu says:

No wonder this gets mentioned here…I have a map for Counter-Strike: Source of this toy.

  17. D.R. says:

I loved making cars go fast down the ramp.

  18. Gavin says:

I remember the elevator noise. Crick, crick, crick, Ding!

  19. OhOhOh says:

Hmm… car garage, not so much. It was all about the PF castle for me: the dragon in his lair, the secret passageway in the tower, all the good stuff. We also had the A-Frame house; that kicked booty with sliding “glass” doors!

  20. Boumama says:

I think I had almost every Little People set except the ones OhOhOh mentioned. I even had Sesame Street.

  21. Jared says:

Total epic win. My grandfolks had one that I played with when I was a kid. Man I loved it. Thanks for bringing back the good memories.

  22. nightlyeclipse says:

I loved this one! My brothers and I also had the airplane and the house. I played with those forever. I think it’s still in my parents’ house. Their attic is a place where old things go to die. They save EVERYTHING and won’t let me go through it, lol.

  23. Ninjah! says:

I LOVED this. All the hospitals/local doctors/dentists in my region had this when I was a kid. It was /the/ thing to play with. Awesome!

  24. beetlejes says:

excellent nostalgic win! I think this also had a gas pump with a little bell that kind of sounded like the real thing. Totally remember the elevator & ramp. Why was this so much fun??

  25. Matilda says:

My mom & dad still have ours. My (now 43) year old brother received it new. His now 5 year old daughter was playing with it on xmas. Aside from fading it’s like brand new. Toys made right back then. They last forever

  26. Kt says:

I think theres still 1 at my dentist place!! :|

  27. notme says:

    FisherPrice: Best. Toys. Ever.

And I knew there was a reason I kept them the day I saw what just the animals alone from the barn were going for at a local antique mall. We had the barn and the garage, and then there were Little People, back when they were small enough to be a choking hazard…good times.

  28. Ham says:

Little People sets were so awesome. I had several back in the day and every single one was win. I think I miss the Sesame Street set the most. There was a slide and a Little People figure of Roosevelt Franklin. How can you go wrong with Little People AND Roosevelt Franklin?

  29. TiminBoston says:

OMG I used to LOVE playing with this thing when I was a kid. I think that if I had access to one, even at age 30 you could fine me playing with it. I used to love pushing the cars up the ramp, especially the one that led to the second floor as the angle of the ramp was so steep. Who know, maybe this is what lead to my love of all things automotive. Also.. the little bump in the plastic on the elevator.. used to love pushing cars over it.

Airport was also pretty kick ass.

  30. oobaka says:

    Holy Moley
    That brought back memories.
According to mom, dad spent a long time setting this thing up for me during the night (Christmas eve) and I ended up playing with the box it came in :)
Once the box was taken from me, I had hours of fun putting the cars in the elevator

  31. Matt says:

Wow… I’ve forgotten about this thing. I had one of these as a kid and I played with it a lot. I used it for mostly my Hot Wheels though.

  32. DeathtoDuckHuntDog says:

OMF’ingWIN! I had a hand-me-down one from my cousins (early 80s, yikes). My friends and I played with that thing until the elevator stopped dinging. :D

  33. Cellie says:

I’ve always wanted these when I was little. But I never got it :(

  34. Sam888 says:

OMFing WIN is right – this toy was so fun. I wish I still had it, I know my kids would love it too.

  35. daishi says:

    OMG wie geil!

  36. gladys says:

I have never, until just right now, wished that I had kids–just so I could buy this toy on eBay and have an actual REASON to do so.

This is like, “Make Gladys Cry” night–Weebles, FP garage, mention of the A-Frame house…SERIOUSLY making me miss my dad–and in fact, my whole childhood–right now.

  37. Anais says:

I had it !! Wow, I wouldn’t have rememberer it if I hadn’t seen it here ! I loved to park the cars on the ground level *.*
    Win definitely.

  38. yaay says:

I had this thing too but I can’t remember ever having the matching cars. I simply used it with my matchbox cars.
When the elevator reached the top some ramp went up, the car rolled out and straight down that road thing…
IT SOUNDS LIKE SO MUCH FUN!
I HOPE MY PARENTS DIDN’T THROW IT AWAY!!!!!

    • DonJuanDeMarco2 says:

Hahahaha Yea ! I remember using any old car in the end.

Would be nice to have the complete set again, just for sentimental reasons oviously… ahem.

  39. meredith says:

Oh my god, I wanted one of these so bad.

20 years later, I find myself wondering what on earth I wanted a parking garage for, but OH MAN did I want one.

  40. christine says:

Little People in general WIN! i have a house, and a playground set. I used to put them in the merry go round and spin it as fast as I could to make them fly out.

  41. Beth says:

I remember playing with one of these.:o

  42. DonJuanDeMarco2 says:

This has to be the best toy ever made.

It was the transition toy that progressed me onto the ‘harder’ stuff.

  43. Billy Sargent says:

anyone remember the “city” play mat that you could carpet the livingroom floor with? You drove down the ramp or out of the lift and there were streets and parking lots. I put my McDonald’s & Hospital & car wash on there…
I still have powerful memories of the incredible smell of all that vinyl!

  44. kyojikasshu says:

I had this one… I loved moving that elevator up and down. The turntable on the top deck, though, seemed pretty useless. I mean, how many parking garages in real life have a car-sized turntable?

  45. MrEricSir says:

I loved this one. It was before they made “Little People” fat and boring (and unswallowable by young children.)

  46. Glob says:

Aww! I had something like this except it was wooden, extremely heavy, and had no learning numbers on the top! Got it from my older brother along with a huge box of cars… I miss it!

  47. skleban says:

My cousins & I called the figures “Billies” and my friend, who lived on the other side of town, called them “People Pals.” My brother & I had the house, farm, airport, parking garage, and eventually the village. Cool stuff we played with for hours at a time.

  48. Matt says:

Wow! Yeah! I used to love the way the elevator rang each time you made a complete circle with the crank. Oh! And the way if you kept cranking the car lift past the point it was supposed to go, it would click and I found this amusing to no end for some reason! I had the farm, too, a rather large passenger airplane and a helicopter. I was thoroughly convinced the helicopter was supposed to go ontop of the car port lol.

  49. llc says:

i liked this one, it was designed for thinking kids.

  50. The best picture. I like it.
