Epic Wins: Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots

Once Upon A Win

Submitted by M Stetz

If every office worker in the world had one of these toys at their desks, there would be no need for movies like “Office Space” or cartoons like “Dilbert.” Every inter-office dispute could be settled by a rousing round of Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots! “Take that, Bob in accounting! My expense report was too accurate!” “Hey, Peg in Sales! Stop hassling me about my TPS Reports!”

Heck, every conflict should be resolved this way:

Or should all fights be resolved with a dance-off? Tell me below.

  1. TC says:

I remember rock em sock em robots but we never got one because they were apparently to violent….we were allowed a Nintendo though with duck hunt and so forth

    • girly-girl says:

Too right! We didn’t get one either, but we had friends who did. ^_^ “You knocked my block off!” And when we saw them in Toy Story 2, I ’sqweeeeeeeed!’

  2. Alex says:

These were so awesome. That video had WAY too many people in the credits, though…what did they all do?!

  3. lilith says:

Anyone see the Futurama episode when Fry gave his robot buddy Bender a Rock em Sock em Robot game? Bender loved it, until the first time he saw one of the heads come off. Priceless!!!

  4. D.R. says:

Yes! Robots beating each other to a pulp– pure genius.

  5. Sunshine says:

I have one of these, unless my mom sold it or something :(

  6. toastybob says:

The correct method of conflict resolution is a pokemon battle. But robots work too.

  7. nate28jf says:

It’s not like a game could hurt me?

  8. djfsfnsjkg says:

i used to haev this game that was just like this except instead of robots it was veloceraptors. God, i loved that game.

  9. Xavier says:

I was reminded of rock’ em sock’ em a few years ago when Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens of the Philadelphia Eagles had their little fight through the media. A local Philly cartoonist took it to the next level. http://www.philadelphiaweekly.com/articles/11059/news–hoagie-dip

  10. petey says:

they were totally excellent. i had them the 60s. [/geezer]

  11. Lark88 says:

I also couldn’t get one cuz my mom thought it was too violent. Now I play Soul Calibur 4 hehe…

  12. name says:

I got my nephew one of these for Xmas a few years ago. Wasn’t the full size version, because they were selling for $$$ on ebay. Didn’t have one as a kid, probably because Ma thought me and my brother did this enough in real life, but one of my cousins had one. Awesome toy, though, Joel ??? from MST had a comedic bit where he claimed he never lost a match because he taped the head of his robot down. Classic…

  13. llc says:

this game was cool until street fighter came out, then everyone put their rock em in the closets.
