If this were real, and I had access to this as a child, I would not be writing this today.

  1. Aust Naile says:

Easy Bake ovens rock. You could make great food from them.

  2. Sarah says:

I had one of the 90s once. It was pink and white, I think. My mom never helped me with it so all my stuff turned out weird. -_-

    • Beppy says:

I had the pink and white 90s one too. It was the first year I didn’t believe in Santa, so that morning I was sort of meh.

      • KartoonNotWerk says:

Yep, my 8 year old daughter wants one this year (her first after figuring out Santa’s not real) but she said she’d act all excited for her 6 year old brother’s benefit. :-)

        • Cam says:

I hope when I have kids my son or daughter dosn’t ruin Christmas for my second.. My brother ruined it when I was about 6 although I was on my way of knowing :P

        • Serenstar says:

The only problem I have with it is the whole…I can use a microwave to safely do the same thing :) My cousin had the EZ bake oven. I did not.

    • Beca says:

I also had that one. I made some slammin cup cakes with it!

  3. MinisterofSilly says:

I never had one as awesome as the one above, but I baked my little ass off! :D

  4. Anonymous says:

rofl. I remember this one from MADtv.

  5. Amy S. says:

My 10 year old begged for one last year. She used it once, but when she determined that she’d have to do five times the work to make something for her and her four siblings, she decided it was better to just help Mommy use the real oven… Yay, wasted money!

  6. Val says:

I had the one picture above and made lots of yummy treats. I remember mom and dad “ooooing and ahhhing” over my creations. It seems to me that I made bubble gum with it too??? I remember the paper for wrapping up the gum, it had pink circles on it. I would have made a lot more things in to but I did not have a lot of mixes so I tried not to use them up quickly. I wonder if the oven is still in a box in my parents basement.

  8. nightlyeclipse says:

I had the 90’s one as well; but after I used up the mixes, my parents wouldn’t go out and get me any more. It just sat in my room after that. I loved using while I could though.

  9. D.R. says:

Muffins. Flat muffin-like things, really. Mmmmmm.

That was some weird #$&@. I’m sure there’s somebody in the space program with a certificate on their wall for it.

  10. Jen says:

Cooking with a lightbulb, none better!

PS Hey, how come my Wacky Packages didn’t get chosen? They were so cool, and people still collect them to this day!

  11. Purple says:

I wanted one of these, but I was a little boy and little boys making baked treats was looked down upon.

    :(

  12. simplycara says:

OMG play dough cake … I so remember the easy bake. Very cool picture.

    Happy holiday !

  13. melissa says:

I have this exact model on top of my fridge. I use it as a conversation piece. I tell people I’m cooking their steaks with a lightbulb.

  14. EpicFloyd says:

Did anybody read about the Easy Bake Oven cookoff? I saw an article in the paper about somebody organizing such a thing. Not sure how much gourmet cooking I could do in an Easy Bake, but it might be fun to try.

  15. daji says:

I absolutely loved mine!! Those were the only days I cooked LOL

  16. Al says:

I loved my Easy Bake Oven! I had one of the “updated” ones though, not that awesome piece in the photo.

Also, that is my favorite MAD TV sketch ever. Coincidentally, it’s also the only one I like.

  17. Leif says:

Do any boys of the 80\90s remember the Creepy Crawler Easy Bake thingy? Same thing, only you created various worms, bugs, scorpians, etc….And you didn’t eat them.

Oh, they still make them! Just in time Christmas, too! Apparently, they are 45 years old. I thought they were knew when I was a kid, hah.

  18. carmaella says:

I had the creepy crawler one! I was so disappointed that mine never turned out like the ones on the box that after the first few uses, I never used it again.

  19. fpelayo says:

    lol! I <3 MAD TV

  20. frogdogz says:

My stepbrothers stole my Easy Bake oven, and used it to make tiny hash and pot brownies. I still remember my step mother stomping around the house and shrieking about “What smells so GD bad in this house??”.

After I got it back from them, all my little cakes and muffins smelled vaguely like skunk.

Oh, and they also stole my lightbrite, and rigged it to work in time with the stereo — I’m sure as an accompaniment to their hash brownie snacks.

  21. Anonymous says:

My sister got an Easy Bake oven just a few years back, and I stole it while she was at school, bought a crapton of mixes, and just made a ton of stuff. 8D BTW, I’m a 17 year old boy now, so I was about 15 when she got it. I still use it!

  22. Cellie says:

I’ve always wanted to try Easy Bake oven 0.-

  23. Rainne says:

I always wanted one of those, but I don’t think my parents trusted me with anything that got hotter than a piece of cardboard. I had to settle for one of those kitchen playset things that you had to pretend with. It ended up turning into a very kitcheny-looking bedroom shelf for me to stack crap on. :p

  24. ihaveamac says:

The funny part for me is “Who the hell are you?”

  25. pat says:

My little sister had one of the original turquoise ones back in the late 60’s or early 70’s.. I must admit, I thought she was making pretty good stuff for a little kid (I was all of 3 years older, but was already using the Big Oven in the Kitchen).

She also got a Creepy Crawlers… I think the most use she got out of it was making a whole bunch of fishing lures for my grandfather!

  26. MW says:

Hmm…I had a similar gizmo when growing up in the late 60’s/early 70s, but rather than this wimpy tabletop model mine sat on the floor, looked like a real oven (right down to the fake burners on top), and the stuff that came out of it was not only edible but also produced more than tablespoon-sized servings. Of course mine also cooked with lightbulbs, so it came in kinda handy if we ran out of propane for the real oven and got hungry for cake or brownies…

    • MW says:

Probably stupid to “reply” to myself, but it was REALLY bugging me that I couldn’t find a picture that looked ANYTHING like the one I had so I did a google search for toy ovens and found…SUZY HOMEMAKER!!! THAT’S the one I had, right down to the funky little primary-colored knobs and the wierdest shade of green that’s ever been created. Do an image search for “suzy homemaker oven” to see for yourself. Those who were wondering about the Easy Bake Cook-off: Hasbro has info on their site about the Easy Bake Baker of the Year. If you google “easy bake oven” the Hasbro site is just a few results up from the recall announcement from 2007 dealing with their oven and partial finger amputations. Never had that problem with Suzy Homemaker! Just had to watch out for that scorching 60-watt bulb when you took out the cake…ah, the good old days…

  27. Anne says:

I had that exact one – ugly turquoise! Made the nastiest little chewy cakes you could ever imagine! I love to cook nowadays, but still have an aversion to baking. I blame the Easy Bake Oven!

  28. Amy says:

Did you see this on I Love the 80’s? Michael Ian Black announced that it takes exactly three hours for a mouse to die in one, and said, “Don’t ask me how I know that.”

  29. Jenna says:

I always loved them, but they took hours to actually cook the damn food.

  30. Anonymous says:

this thing was pretty much pointless cause it took so long and the food tasted really bad but i think that’s the point of it.

  31. llc says:

never had one of these, but were the cookies any good?
