Epic Win: Your 80’s Pictures

A very big thank you goes out to Michael Sanchez and Sarah Robertson for their bravery in sending us their like, totally awesome 80’s pictures. May you always be made of win! Everyone else: now that they’ve shared, it’s your turn! Please send in pics of YOUR best 80’s (or earlier) looks.

Here’s Michael, striking a very “heeeeeeeey ladies, let me tell you what time it is with my GIANT digital watch” pose against his locker. Is this a lost John Hughes outtake?

By the way, Lacoste is back, but the look is totally missing Michael’s savoir-faire. And by savoir-faire, I mean sweater.

Sarah, is true that in Texas, “the higher the hair, the closer to god?”

If so, you are heavenly. Sarah herself says “The photo of me in the white leather mini skirt, spike heels and…for the love of jeebus…fluffy ankle socks? I was headed for the Power Station concert at the Southern Star Ampitheater at Astro World.”

In other words, she was getting gussied up to see these dudes:

I wish I could send in some amusing 80s photos, but I wasn’t born until November 1989. :/

    • smackymcgee says:

I was born in 1972, so I have some 80’s pictures, but no scanner. Never had big hair, though. I am thankful to be able to honestly say that. Unless you count the couple times I did Robert Smith hair, but that was hardly the popular style…

      • The Crapture says:

i know what you mean…in some perverse attempt at being ironic i did the Flock of Seagulls look a couple of years too late and the weather made most of the lhair-do fall down, so in one of my yearbook pictures, i have horns…which was still ironically appropriate for the fact that i was attending a Catholic school

  3. yellowsneakers says:

I am totally crushing on 80s Michael, giant watch and all.

    • Michael Sanchez says:

Hey babe, Wanna see The Breakfast Club with me on Saturday night? I here it’s totally Awesome. If the theater is cold you can barrow my sweater.

  4. smackymcgee says:

Ah, The Power Station. As an avid “Durannie” I was a Power Station fan. However, I didn’t have MTV back in the day. I’m sure I saw that video at some point in my life, but don’t remember it much. WTF with the armpit shaving?

    • Michael Sanchez says:

The woman shaving her armpit is the famous transsexual Caroline (Tula) Cossey. I remember the MTV VJs beating us over the head with this fact every time the video played.

  5. donna says:

The hats are back — one of my son’s friends is totally into the hat now…

  6. Buddy Girl says:

All my pictures are in storage in PA. I’m living in TX. Durnit. I was cute in the 80s. WTF happened????

  7. Salty Sack says:

    80s fashion FTL

Sorry I forgot about mesh muscle shirts. I guess it was okay…

  8. Jielun says:

    “Lacoste is back”

Emmm.. it was never gone :S

  9. mojojojo says:

Booooooo. No Power Station reunion now. RIP Robert and Tony.

    • Michael Sanchez says:

It is so sad that both of these wonderful musicians are gone now.
I saw Robert Palmer in concert twice. The first time I saw him his opening act was Belinda Carlisle. Great show!

      • Olson says:

I’m so completely jealous…..Robert Palmer was THE MAN!! I never got to see him and I bawled like a baby when he died. I have all of his albums.

  10. Lynnda says:

OMG! Clerics are HOT! >.< I so have a thing for priests. Yes, yes, I know…I’ll get in my handbasket now.

  11. Green Is Good says:

I LOVED the Power Station! Robert Palmer was the hawtness.

  12. Thorne1966 says:

Some of my old classmates put up a group on Facebook for alumni from the 80’s… the pictures there i would almost rather forget. *L*

Well, maybe not the one of me with the mohawk… that one was alright. *L*

  13. rackletang says:

Power Station was the first concert I ever saw, at Merriwether Post Pavilion in Maryland. With my sister and her friend, and my mom. Oh yes.

  14. TJ says:

I love that song! But what was the deal with Robert Palmer’s priest collar? It is hard to believe he is gone.

  15. david weinstein says:

    WHERE’S CAROLINE COSSEY’S HOT ASS?

  16. llc says:

IZOD made in indonesia now for fifty cents and sold here for $50. too bad, exploiting other people in the name of classy fashion.
